"You may think I was over-reacting if I told you that Carjack Mallone are the next big thing as, lets face it, not many people have heard of this four piece from Manchester, neither have they heard their stunningly amazing demo. Well, lucky for you, the reader, I have. And let me tell you this for free - its ace!
The first song, 'The Devil is Present' sounds like the title beloning to yet another 'mental' rock band donning long greasy hair and old pot noodle stains, but not today. The track opens with a gritty Flea-esque bass line before pounding the ear drums with a cluttering colection of drum beats and vocals. The rest of the demo builds on the amazing start with songs such as 'Just Maybe' reiterating their their unique rock sounds infused with melodies more infectious than malaria.
With this much talent it will be hard to keep this band at bay and with a well awaited live slot at IntheCity in October Manchester needs to be ready for a real Northern uprising."
Sandman Magazine
"The first song, Just Maybe, was the best one...interesting backing vocals are always good"
Jim Rhodes, Cherry Ghost
"...the real pinnacle is “The Devil Is Present†which finds the band at their most comfortable and delivering something that has the hallmarks of something much bigger..." Manchestermusic.co.uk
"...a rich and powerful sound, energetic, driving, neat riffs, fluid, clear vocals..."
Soundscape Studio Workshop
"We dash upstairs in time to catch the end of Dead Wasps’ dynamic set before Carjack Mallone take to the stage. It seems this is the band the crowd have been waiting for as they surge to the front. What happens next is a frenzied, energetic extravaganza. The charismatic frontman constantly maintains eye contact with his crowd, he knows exactly what to say and do to keep them on side and they are with him all the way. The music is powerful, riff driven rock and drives the audience wild."
