VIDEO FOR OUR DEBUT SINGLE 'TOMORROW IS NOW' OUT IN JUNE!
MANCHESTER MUSIC...TOMORROW IS NOW 'Single Of The WEEK'
THE UNDERCLASS :: 02 June 2008. By JA
This track popped up on a demo at the end of last year and as a single it’s no less than knockout. “Tomorrow Is Now†is a perfect pop rocking anthem for Manchester. The vocals take a lighter lead whilst the guitars clamber up into the clouds with bouts of skuzzy jangling. This is a sound mixture of new wave powerpop and of course the most important ingredient, a compelling tune. It’s safe to say that the b-side “Tales Of A Transit†is equally brilliant, devouring the same breezy indie outlook. Again the song itself is amazingly simple and contagious. It’s pretty safe to say that a band who have moved on from a budget recording to this almost impeccable record, are destined for big things. Excellent.
SELBY TIMES SINGLE REVIEW:
TOMORROW IS NOW
SHEER punk energy, a memorable hook and observational lyrics combine to demonstrate exactly why The Underclass are proving to be one of the most hotly tipped new acts on the scene.
It's unbelievable such a talented act has managed to fly under the radar for so long. Anthemic and addictive, their sing-a-long indie tunes are utterly infectious. The more gritty and attitude-laden Tales Of A Transit Van is equally impressive. You can clearly hear the band's influences, from the likes to Oasis and The Charlatans to Kasabian. There are elements of all these and more in their music, but the sheer youthful energy they inject in their songs gives them real individuality as well.
The Underclass a five piece band hailing from Manchester have created a new take on what was a tired sound, in a recent review they were described as
‘mixing the tried and tested sound of classic British guitar bands with the current vogue of observational lyrics, whilst infusing a punk spirit into proceedings to create an urgent and of the moment racket’ .(Guestlist music March 2008)
With already a firm following in their home city and sold out gigs, other areas are now catching on to what is known as............. The Underclass
One of Manchesters best kept secrets but they wont stay that way for
long.
(Danny McNamara (Embrace) The Aftershow march 2008).
With sing-a-long indie tunes that could comfortably fit in the top 40 The Underclass prove themselves as one of Manchesters better bands.
