About Me

I'm Emily and I've been playing drums for 9 years, playing sax and writing songs for about five years, and writing raps and all kinds of other crap including the current project of a requiem (words of a special latin mass for the dead set to music) for choir and orchestra (plus guitars, bass, drums and piano) for a good while. My current bands are Ezekiel (www.myspace.com/ezekiel123) and K A Smiley (myspace.com/kasmiley), plus Cuba Vida (www.cubavida.com), who opened the Manchester Jazz Festival 2007, and George Galway's Manchester swing band. I frequent the Lammar's and Matt and Phred's jam sessions and watch lots of gigs at Matt and Phred's. For any jazz artists out there, Stuart McCallum is bigging me up these days, ask him for yourself at www.myspace.com/stuartmccallum music. I hope he's not too lazy to reply to you. I've been trying to get him to comment on my latest album as The Aged (www.myspace.com/the_aged) for ages. At present if anyone needs a drummer I am especially open to doing paid gigs as I'm fundraising to go to Uganda to work for the charity SPW (spw.org). I am, however, all about the music. If anyone wants cheap lessons too, get in touch.
