Started out playing Bb clarinet at age 8, guitar at 11, adding alto saxophone as well as contrabass at 14. Played the guitar in the high school jazz ensemble, eventually being selected to play in the All-State Jazz Ensemble. Played alto sax in the school symphonic and marching bands as well as the junior county orchestra. Played the contrabass in the school and county orchestra. Moved to Boston to attend school (majoring in guitar), culminating in a Bachelor of Music degree from the Berklee College of Music, graduating a year and a half early. Following graduation, worked with various groups in Boston as well as playing solo concerts. Moved to New York shortly after, playing and touring in various bands and ensembles as well as performing solo. Currently based in New York.
