John Lennon for his attitude and his music. William Blake for his vision. The English weather, growing up in the 80's, roll ups. The desire not to work for the man. A fevered imagination. Everyone I've ever met - the fact that I am here now and not a medieaval peasant; incidentally I once knew a bloke who was convinced he had been a priestess in Atlantis in a previous life, small world but he kept meeting other folk who had been there with him in and around Petersfield - I digress - well EVERYTHING, I know it's pretentious; perhaps the biggest influence of all was my mother who forced me to take piano lessons - thank God she did, she always used to say " The music's alright but you should have another string to your bow, well if it wasn't for her I'd have no bloody strings at all, just a curved bit of wood or maybe not even that.
