About Me

'...very Mark Lanegan, Queens of the Stone Age influenced, and very good...that guy's got a great voice'
Scott Ford (Twilight Singers, Gutter Twins) on The Scott Ford Show
Living in Knoxville, Tennessee, Robert McCracken became hugely influenced by the alternative folk/Americana scene. On return to his hometown of Guildford he began writing songs in the vein of troubadours such as Mark Lanegan, Johnny Cash and JJ Cale. The live shows are a transfixing experience, brooding vocals backed by Chris Eaton’s atmospheric lead guitar and Jon Pickford’s pulsing bass. This year Robert’s music has received airplay on a number of American radio stations and they have headlined the Guilfest 2008 Acoustic Stage. They will be following up with various dates in the UK.
The Original Press Release:
Rob lives in a flea-bitten, rat-infested house, Guildford, Surrey and makes his music in a studio at the bottom of the garden as the rain drips through the ceiling onto his pathetic, archaic equipment. He leads a thoroughly miserable existence amid the drear of modern life. Record labels may like to note that he is willing to descend into drug addiction and of course suicide in order to boost record sales.
