...not the life for me

About Me

We are Midriff, a 5 piece experimental punk rock band looking to form a unique and new sound. We are based in Swansea.
A little history of Midriff, the band formed originally as Adam, Dan, Timmy and Toby in April 2006. After much searching for a vocalist James joined on vocals in May. James met Dan, Timmy and Toby when we secured our first gig in a friend's party. Adam, Dan and Timmy are studying in Bishop Gore sixth form, James is in Swansea Institute, and Toby is in Neath College.
We are currently looking for gigs wherever available, as we are hoping to expand our loyal Swansea fanbase. If you want a band to support or play with you, don't hesitate to message us. James can drive now and Dan and Timmy are learning so we are happy to have to travel for a gig. We are also open minded about gig swaps too.
We write our own music and cover a few songs to liven up the atmosphere with some well known songs. Currently, we are writing brand new material with the aim of recording a second E.P.
Our first E.P was recording in October 2007 in SKWAD HQ studios. It is a 3 track which costs £2. The songs are as follows:
1. What's Up Ahead
2. Just Like You
3. Again
Some of the bands we have played with already include:
the guffries, readyon3, the symptoms, temp!, opaque reality, the grand parade, thoughts collide, fandangle, chase long beach, one room down, plinth, cracked actors, fight the bear, nihilistic, kenisia, detached, the fushions, evolution, volatile, and rezmo.

Sounds Like: The New York Gig Review (1st March 08) :

Punk rockers Midriff. With a guitarist sporting hair similar to that of Coheed and Cambria’s, Claudio Sanchez, Midriff magnificently blasted their way through covers such as the popular ‘99 Red Balloons’ and The Vines’ ‘Get Free’ as well as their own inventions: ‘What’s Up Ahead’, ‘Again’ and ‘Just Like You’, all off their latest EP. £2.50 and a Saturday night well spent.
