Besides we wanna say thank you to all the MC´s who took part and to all the people who support EOW worldwide....Since February 06 EOW Berlin exists to let the movement crow. EOW is not just a MC battle, it´s a way to connect people all over the world to celebrate the HipHop-culture.Movement 5 Years in the makin in NYC!!!A Movement 5 years in the Making! On a steamy New York night in August __ 2000, three MC's, Big Zoo, Vice Verses and Prolific Wone met for the first time, in the back of a Lower East Side Diner. Brought together by DJ Joey Ty to host a weekly open-mic, the three MC's discussed the need for a venue where up and coming artists could build with veteran MCs in a movement to change the status quo. They shared their frustration with the current state of hip-hop music, where uninspired pop-rap dominates the airwaves. Joey envisioned a place where creativity and originality would be fostered, thus bringing about an End of The Weak.Unfortunately, Joey Ty never got to see his vision come to fruition. Hospitalized before the first show, Joey was diagnosed with terminal cancer and passed away within weeks. However the vision behind End of The Weak lived on... If you have your ear to the street, you would hear the distinctive rumblings within the indi-hip-hop culture that EOW is the place to see or be seen, breaking some of the hottest unsigned artists coming through the game. It is currently the longest running weekly open mic in New York City, rocking every Sunday night for over 250 consecutive weeks.E.O.W. is a driving force in the New York City underground hip-hop scene as hosts of the city’s premier open mic event, concert organizers and creators of the MC Challenge.
