Band Members: Pete Sklaroff - Guitar
Influences: I have many and varied musical influences...but I'm especially attracted to the music (in no particular order) of ALL of the following musicians: Joe Pass, Wes Montgomery, Steve Morse, Eric Johnson, John Coltrane, Bill Evans, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Paul Kossoff, Jon Lord, Miles Davis, John McLaughlin, Chick Corea, Charlie Banacos, Jerry Bergonzi,Ritchie Blackmore, Michael Schenker, Neil Munro, Jerry Donahue, Brent Mason, Dan Huff, Larry Carlton, Mike Stern, Jimmy Raney, Pat Martino, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Freddie King, Paul Rodgers, David Coverdale, Mike Mainieri, Michael Brecker, Glenn Gould, Julian Bream, Eliot Fisk, Jimmy Page, Eddie Van Halen, Steve Gadd, Doc Watson, Mark O'Connor, David Sanborn, Don Grolnick, Eddie Gomez, Jaco Pastorius, Scott Henderson, Eef Albers, Leo Fender, Alan Murphy and Jimmy Smith........I'm also influenced by many of the students that I teach (and have taught in the past) and certainly by some of my fellow musicians - that I teach alongside............Some of the Best Ever Gigs I attended: Jeff Beck 1980, Miles Davis 1982, Thin Lizzy (late 70's I think...), Joe Pass 1982, Deep Purple (a very long time ago...!), Weather Report, Whitesnake 1980, Mike Stern (mid-1990's), Stevie Ray Vaughan 1984(?), John Scofield, (1991), UFO (1979?), Led Zeppelin, Mike Brecker Band 1987, Eric Clapton (1983),...the list goes on...and on...and on....
Sounds Like: Well I hope very much that some influences drawn from the amazing musicians listed above pop up in my playing but I'm not setting out to emulate any particular styles or individuals....I love jazz (in all its various forms) as much as I love blues and rock music (I was brought up in the 60's after all!...)Given the choice between listening to Jimi Hendrix, Aretha Franklin, Miles Davis or Glenn Gould, I'd be an awkward bugger and choose all of them!....Many thanks for listening...CheersPete
