Myspace Layout Stealer;
Music. It has been religion to me since 1977. Realized during the great Blackout of 1977 in New York City, it was my own portable 8-Track Tape stereo which entertained the neighbors. I was 10 years old. It is amazing that your whole entire future can take hold within the moments of a crisis. From that moment in July 1977 to present, I have somehow adapted to my surroundings and learned a craft that many people claim to have but simply fall short at the waist side.
You have to realize the connection of Electronic Music to DJ Culture. Many Europeans believe what is happening today can be linked to Electronic experimentations that happened in 1916. That is simply not true. 1977 marks the 30 years since Kraftwerk released "Trans-Europe-Express", Donna Summer's "I Feel Love" and Cat Stevens "Was Dog A Doughnut". Within these three releases, Electronic Music would have its blueprint for things that were yet to come.
There are many moments in time that can be used as a marker for birth of a culture. While Chicago and Detroit both play instrumental parts in House and Techno, both payed close attention to New York City. For NYC was home to the worlds largest and most popular Discotheques. Studio 54 for an example. Brooklyn is one of the five boroughs.
Saturday Night Fever was a movie which brought Disco to the masses. And while Electronic Music was not even a small blip on the Disco radar, records would emerge. Detroit's Carl Craig would be one of several Americans that could tell you what these records were. I would be another one of those guys. Telex, Kano, Capricorn, Gino Soccio. The Italo Disco era.
No pun intended but "A Number Of Names".
Where that leads us is to here and now. 2007 started off bright. I heard a track by EINMUSIK which explained that I really will see you in 2017. But whereas I don't overhype my upcoming gigs, I am leaving in 10 hours to play FANTAZIA in Glasgow, and have two major events on both coasts to follow that up.
Some people use the internet as a rodeo. And there are keyboard cowboys looking to lasso me up and tie up my dreams. DON'T. F*ck With Brooklyn.
I am not a has-been, I am not a wanna-be. I'm Frankie Bones, BITCH. Whattt??? Seriously, you can't stop progress. This is 30 years in the making and not the mid-life crisis you claim it to be. I am writing this as my testiment to the game. Don't hate the player, Hate the game. Recognize.
BK All Day. Brooklyn. It's where I am from. It's built in like Windows is to your computer. And yet me and Southern California have had this 17 year affair. And I wanted to do something most people could never do. Pack up and move to Cali. So how do I like it? I LOVE IT. Sunshine. 70 degrees. Did I mention Sunshine?
F*ck where ya' from. It's where ya @! Frankie Goes To Hollywood? Relax. I'm behind the orange curtain in OC. Orange County is it's own little undoing, filled with rich brats and soccer Moms in SUV's. Someone said the only good thing about this place is living here. I can leave my doors unlocked. Crime is non-existant. Suddenly everything makes sense. I can't complain.
That is my road manager, Mosq The Mosquito. He has been my official mascot since 1993. Though you will only meet him at Caffeine Reunion parties like the one that happened in November 2006, please do not message me asking me a price to play your party. Look at the holdings in the picture and name my price. Your not paying for a auto-pilot laptop computer button pusher. You are paying for hundreds of thousands of miles of crate digging from all over the planet. I come in to play with results. I take what I do so serious that I need to defuse that seriousness with stuffed muppets in the shape of mosquitoes to deflect the deep rooted connection to myself, the music and the scene.
Welcome to the underground world of DJ Frankie Bones. This is my current music page for 2007. It gets a bit tricky because I have several myspace accounts. What you need to know is that this is the main one. I have lost two music accounts which have been reduced to personal profiles and an original personal profile. So yeah, I know...4 accounts. What do you want me to tell you? I'm retarded? So be it. Now I know how this about me sections work and I will spare you all the silly nonsense like: I am a trained musician in turntablism who discovered the cure for cancer. I am not. I did not. My profile reflects who I am and that is 100% Brooklyn Based. A Native New Yorker by all means. That being said I live in Southern California. Why? Because I like the Governer.
Damn you ask a lot of questions.
