DJ Holly D.s love of music started early on when she was growing up in South Eastern Massachusetts. Starting out with classical piano lessons, she learned to read and understand music. When she was 10 years old a relative gave her a Casio keyboard for her birthday that had various preprogrammed beats and rhythms. She would try to copy songs she heard from movies and the radio using the keyboard, along with making original tunes.
In 1998, she went to her first rave in Connecticut and fell instantly in love with underground electronic music scene. She was infatuated with the power the dj had over the crowd and desired to obtain the same control. In 1999 she purchased her first set of turntables and a mixer. She originally started out playing Trance and Disco House, but then quickly found her true love of Techno.
Her style of Techno ranges from Hard Techno, Tech-house and Electro . She is influenced from artists such as Frankie Bones, Adam Beyer, Jeff Mills, Richie Hawtin, Marco Carola, Lars Klein, Henrik B., Patrick Skoog, DJ Ogi, Robert Natus, and many more.
After practicing for a couple years, DJ Holly D. got her first opportunity in 2001, to spin at an event in Connecticut. Hearing her records live on a large system made her want to learn how to produce her own tracks. In 2003 she moved to Florida where she obtained an Associated Degree in Recording Arts. Now armed and dangerous, she purchased some studio gear and has begun producing original tracks.
DJ Holly D. can be heard in various metro's in Massachusetts and also spins in surrounding cities and states. She brings to the decks her persistence and determination to keep the floor moving and shaking. Her passion and desire for the music she loves is relentless. She's definitely not one to miss.
