TFX formed when Lee Zajciw and James Oldrini embarked on a popular music course at Derby College in 2001 as The Fuse Experience. Lee and James had previously formed a band with other lads in and around their local area as Fuse.
TFX developed a wide range of styles based on a modern Sixties sound with influence from the late, great Jimi Hendrix, The Who and The Beatles.
Recent changes in the bands line up saw new drummer Sean Skinner slip behind the drum kit bringing with him fresh ideas and different influences which are guaranteed to launch the band on new and exciting musical paths.
Soon after Sean joined TFX, the band were picked to play at the north's biggest bikers festival "The Pentrich Rock & Blues Custom Bike Show", where they wowed the crowd with a blistering one hour set. The bands show was very well received and prompted masses of positive feedback.
The band have their first demo CD out and continue to write brand new original tracks as this year they strive to work towards a record deal and their debut album release!
Early 2007 and the band had been noticed by two top produces from a London based studio as a result of showcasing the demo songs on myspace. After a meeting, which discussed how a session with them could move us forward, we have taken the opportunity to spend the end of July down there to create fantastic music and look forward to doing so!!!
Mean while…. Look out for us America! We have been filmed for a clip in a documentary on how Harley Davidson has influenced culture World Wide!
… And, Drummer, Sean Skinner is one of the first people to take part in the “Take It Away†scheme! The Scheme is a new Arts Council England initiative created to help people get involved in learning and playing music. It allows you to apply for up to £2,000 of interest free credit for the purchase of any kind of musical instrument. The BBC has been following the story and features TFX in the report!
