Howard, American Skin by Don de Grazia, Namedropper by Emma Forrest, His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman, Not Her Real Name by Emily Perkins, Guns Germs and Steel and Collapse by Jarred Diamond, if you know who T.L. Sherred is, you are my soulmate. In high school I and some of my friends used to think we were actually living inside an Anne Rice vampire novel. We dressed like it, anyway-------I like me some William Shakespeare. I like plays. I was just in WAITING FOR GODOT for a long time, and it might be the greatest thing ever written.-----David Foster Wallace also floats my boat (heh heh, get it?) as do the witty life stories and essay stylings of David Sedaris.-----that Hunter S. Thompson had some interesting things to say about the American experience------Some of the best storytelling these days can be found in comic books, especially Hellblazer and Preacher by Garth Ennis, The Sandman by Neil Gaiman, and lots of stuff by Alan Moore, Warren Ellis, Brian Michael Bendis, Mike Carey, and Kurt Busiek.
