THE BEST PLACE FOR ALL YOUR MUSIC NEEDS !!!!

About Me

Born in New York City, Damien L. Thorr showed very impressive artistic talents at a very young age. By the time he was nine years old, he had won many awards for his pencil illustrations and sculptures. He received his first guitar at age fifteen. However, he never played it until, at age seventeen, some jealousy of his brother’s musical abilities forced him into playing the guitar 4 to 6 hours a day. Then later, 6 to 8 hours a day, studying the music of the great masters such as Bach, Paganini, Vivaldi, Dowland and the great Flamenco guitar virtuosos such as Montoya, Romero, and Sabicas. By this time, Damien and the guitar were inseparable. He very quickly developed highly advanced skills on the instrument and other instruments as well. His unique blend of Classical, Flamenco, and Heavy Rock music was very noticeable among most players in New York, where he was already teaching the instrument.Damien attended a Renaissance music concert during a spring afternoon in New York’s Central Park where, for the first time, he saw and heard a Lute player. He was immediately in love with that instrument and was later selected to play it upon entering college. He attended Herbert Lehman College in New York under the guidance and teachings of the great guitar virtuoso Jorge Morel. He also studied the lute with Patrick O’Brien. Shortly into his college studies he moved to Barcelona, Spain, where he studied the guitar extensively and on the streets and old plazas, he got the purest taste of real Flamenco.Damien earned an AA in guitar performance from Lehman College in New York. He favors music for the guitar from the baroque and renaissance periods as well as Flamenco. Rock music has always been in his heart so he has managed to land a few notable positions as a rock guitarist. Some of these include: Jesus Christ Superstar, Grease, Rocky Horror Picture Show, and Godspell. He also performed and recorded with the Dutch heavy metal band Highway Chile, and the American metal band, SST. He has won the “Best Rock Guitarist” award for the Dutch magazine “HEADBANGERS” in 1989. About The Store: God Of Thunder was founded in 2003 and opened its doors for business on October 31, 2003. Music:

Right now I like Ricardo Arjona, who is a great songwriter. I also like ChristianDaniel, I like Juan Luis Guerra, Joan Manuel Serrat, Mana, Ricky Martin, David Bisbal, who has one of the best voices I have ever heard. I like a bit of everything. I like Trivium, Overkill, Iron Maiden, Whitesnake, Sabbath, and lots of classical and other obscure genres of music that many people are not familiar with. But I Like All kinds of music! Everything is good except rap. Rap sucks and it stands for "retards attempting poetry". I can't believe that the art form with the lowest standards of talent is so popular. There is no merit or real sense of pride from producing it. It is like an artist who cuts and pastes pictures from other sources, compiles them and calls it "his art". It is absolute @#^%&*!!!!

Movies:

I like independent films and films from Spain and Latin America. I find most American films lack substance and rely way too much on audio-visual effects. There seems to be greater writing standards overseas.

Television:

All my life I have NEVER had cable. I only watch the news in the morning as I am dressing for work. Television can be a great mouth piece of information for the world but instead, it's full of mindless and worthless fluff.

Books:

Everything is worth reading for one purpose or another except I find romance novels to be a bit pointless, although, I guess some people need them for some kind of fill in life.

Heroes:

Who needs heroes when we have our own mark to make in life?
