SHASHAMANE INT'L SOUND HISTORY.The Sound was born in the Ghetto of Nairobi Kenya called Huruma in 1984. Three Rasta blood brothers, Papa Bingi, the late Pupa Davis and Rev Dida got together and formed a Sound. Since all of us were Rastas, we decided to call it DREAD BROTHERS PROMOTION. In 1985, two close friends by the name of Ras Ken and Daddy Chosh joined the sound and in 1986, Youthman Terry became a member of the elite Sound. A year later when i visited Ethiopia with some members of the Twelve Tribes of Israel. I decided to change the name of the Sound to SHASHAMANE INTERNATIONAL.Shashamane became a very powerful force to be reckoned with in the 80's in Kenya spreading Reggae music and Rastafari teachings. While in London in 1988 at Jah Shaka Dance in Brixton, Shaka introduced me to the late Dennis Emanuel Brown whom i reason with for a very long time. I told him that i was in Ethiopia and got a sound called Shashamane. This link up with D Brown got me my first special called Country Living.Shashamane is not just a sound. We also promote the biggest Reggae event in Africa called AFRICA BOUND REGGAE SUMMERFEST which was sterted in 2000 in Memory of my late brothers Pupa Davis and Ras Panyaley. The African Summerfest has seen the likes of the late JOSEPH HILL (CULTURE), GREGORY ISAACS, NINJA FORD, CHRONICLE, FLASHER, GLEN WASHINGTON, ISRAEL VIBRATIONS and Sounds like, KILLAMANJARO, LP INTERNATIONAL, SUPERSONIC AND KING TURBO
