About Me

Well, let's start out with I'm going to be in Munich for World Cup in a couple of weeks (June 2006), so if you're planning to be there, lemme know. I'm going for work but would love to have some people to hang out with.Writing, discovering new restaurants, movies, tv, travelling, websites with spell check because my vocabulary is exellent, but my spelling is weak, finding someone to help me cultivate my crappy yard into a pristine garden, discovering my inner psychic self (oh, yeah, I'm totally mystical, believe that), discrediting organized religion, making fun of but being completely obsessed with celebrity gossip. Other things about me...I have a cat (Chairman Miaow), I watch tv, but am only addicted to Entourage, Arrested Development, Scrubs, Grey's Anatomy, Boondocks, The Office (American and British versions), Project Runway, Top Chef...Hmm...I'm beginning to think that maybe I watch too much TV. I was a Buffy fanatic. Did I mention that I love Jeremy Piven on Entourage? Okay, enough about that.I love to cook, even though it's pretty pathetic to try out the latest gourmet chateaubriand recipe on just one person, so it would be really nice to find someone who wouldn't mind sharing.I like to travel (especially England, got to love those Brits) and there are a multitude of other things I could think to talk about, but it's kind of pointless to tell my whole life story on this ad.If I were to do that...what else would we have to talk about???

I'd like to meet:

My ideal match would be someone who shares my interests, including my passion for anything purple and sparkly and my love of good food, good conversation, and good music. You must be comfortable with yourself, and comfortable with me. I'm not completely hung up on looks, or being with someone with a perfect body, and hopefully you aren't either.Someone who would love to discover the best new (but not necessarily treny or hip) restaurant, but be just as comfortable at the local dive bar listening to Johnny Cash on the jukebox.Someone who will be just as willing to sit home and chill in front of the TV as go to the movies. I'm 34 for god's sake. I'm not the club girl anymore. But the art gallery opening? Or the cocktail party? Or special event? Uh, well, if I can convince myself to get my butt off the couch, maybe.Someone who realizes that just because I'm not a size 0 doesn't mean that I'm not stylish, cute, pretty, and worth every minute.Someone to share my craziness with. Because we are all crazy in our own way; it's a matter of finding the level of psychosis that you can deal with that makes a relationship. That's how you decide who you can be friends with or not...how much of this insanity can I handle? Eating dead people? No. Fear of monkeys and wanting them exterminated? Possibly yes.

Music:

I used to be into BritPop. Have you seen "Live Forever"? That was my life in the 90s except I was here in GA and not in the UK. But I'm going to be one of those old people in 2020 telling the youngsters how music was better when I was a kid. Now...still the newer bands (Arctic Monkeys, Deathcab for Cutie, She Wants Revenge, Snow Patrol, etc. But you can also catch me down with the durty durty because I'm from the ATL baby and there's nothing more hysterically profounding than a rap lyric like "watch me make your face beat up my hand". What you know about that? I'm the whitest black girl you'll ever meet...who loves britpop...interesting, eh?

Movies:

Trainspotting; Truly,Madly,Deeply; Dogma; Fargo; Resevoir Dogs; The Godfather (1&2); Go; The Ref; A Xmas Story; anything with Will Ferrell; The Station Agent; The Joy Luck Club; early Woody Allen; Ishtar (shut up, I know); Defending Your Life; Hedwig and the Angry Inch; LA Confidential; Shaun of the Dead...

Television:

Arrested Development, Scrubs, BUFFY BUFFY BUFFY, Rescue Me, Adult Swim, Family Guy, Best Week Ever, Top Chef; Project Runway, Best Week Ever, The Office (the UK first, but the US won me over), Bones, Ghost Whisperer (oh yeah, I said it), Curb Your Enthusiasm, Greg the Bunny; anything Fox has ever cancelled;

Books:

PXthis, all of the Harry Potters, all of the Trixie Belden mysteries (as if anyone remembers those), biographies and autobiographies, Gasping for Airtime, early Anne Rice...I'm not an avid reader, but am open to anything.

Heroes:

Jeremy Piven (even though he's a manho), Oscar Wilde, Dylan Thomas, Shane Macgowan, Albert Brooks, Mitch Hedberg, Dave Chapelle, Bill Hicks, Joss Whedon, Judd Apatow, JK Rowling, Ricky Gervais and Stephan Merchant, Denis Leary, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, Anthony Bourdain; Kathy Griffin; Isaac Mizrahi; Gordon Ramsay; the Gallagher bros; Jim Courier; BJ Novak.
