Music. The unknown...what else is out there? Spiritual power within ourselves, and combined with others. That's why drums pound in the deepest wells of my heart and soul. When I'm behind the drums in my own world, jammin with seasoned musicians, or dancin in a drum circle...It's spiritual. The thunder of the percussion instrument (large or small), can rumble the ground you walk on, as well as act as therapy. If you can't express yourself through your words, pick up a drum and speak through your heart...Family, friends, cooking, being outside, being inside, a balance of work and leisure, getting lost out on a country road. Fire up and grill..If you've got an airport, I'll be your best friend...If I wasn't a musician, I'd be a pilot...Anything with wings are cool...Almost, everything...
Anybody...People amuse me the most. Anyone with a drive, passion, or hunger to do what they want in life...There's alot of excellent people out there that need to be met...Trust me...I've met them. Some of what you hear from people may change your life or the way that you look at life..Maybe for a second, maybe forever.I DO NOT want to meet dishonest people..thieves, compulsive liars, or bullshit artists...I've always wanted to meet a Bigfoot running across the road with a deer in it's arms..........
If the "song" moves asses or earth, I like it. It has to groove regardless of how slow or fast, or of what style it may be. I like to listen to all styles of music, but when I'm behind the drums I'm all about rock and funk. Here's some artists I dig...Breaking Benjamin, 10 YEARS,Rob Zombie, Seether, (old) RHCP, Korn, Three Days Grace, Tool, GODSMACK, Dave Grohl, 80's ROCK: MOTLEY CRUE STILL RULES! Tesla, Cinderella, Van Halen, Fight, Skid Row. However ALABAMA was the first band that I EVER heard...Mark Herndon is the coolest...And he is still the king of country drummers in my book... Then ya got the Robert Johnson, Clapton, Phil Collins, Willie, Hank, Hag, Hawk. The Man In Black. Eagles, Jeff Healey, Aerosmith, Prince, Marley, Parliment, Pink Floyd, the Police, the Doors, Steely Dan, and TOTO. Raggae, r-n-b, some country, blues, metal...WHATEVER! This is a tough category.
CROSSROADS...NOT the Britney Spears movie...Crossroads was released in 1987, and it needs to be seen by EVERY musician, artist, or entertainer in this world...Its a movie about "making a deal with the Devil"- a Robert Johnson movie.Mainly comedies- just about any National Lampoon's films- Vacation, Van Wilder, Super Troopers, etc. GroundHog Day, Hear No Evil-See No Evil-anything with Richard Pryor (and Gene Hackman), NOT so much on Adam Sandler, all Beverly Hills Cop's, all of the Friday's, most Jim Carrey, any Tom Hanks, and so on...Murder in the First, Silence of the Lambs, and other "true story" movies. Paradise Lost/Paradise Lost Revisited (West Memphis Three)-along with other documentaries, Live concerts, blah, blah, blah,...BUT...I HATE movies about world devastation- caused by Mother Nature, it's a force we cannot stop...
Squidbillies, Futurama, FAMILY GUY, Simpsons. TLC, Discovery/History Channel,...don't really have alot of time for TV.
Anyone that stands their ground and keeps their head high...
