The Naked Mole Rats

About Me

This layout was handmade with love by the folks at My space or yours? Go get one!
This is a side project for all of us! Jarrod and Chris will be doing Rufus Huff shows and Mark and Chris will will be doing shows with The Fender Benders! We will book dates when our regular bands are not playing!
We will be playing mostly old blues jams and some stuff that Jarrod has written over the years and will be playing some cover material. We play a little of everything , so catch us when we get out! You never know what we may pull out and play or who will be playing with us. We love to mix it up but we'll keep it straight ya'll.
Hit us up for an add and we will happily accept you. We will also have some live stuff on here as soon as we can get some recorded.
Jarrod England: Guitars/Vocals
Jarrod is the front man for the band Rufus Huff. The Huffs boys found Jarrod singing the blues in a barn and asked him to be the front man for the Huffs .
Jarrod told me quote, "The Naked Mole Rats is a side gig during Head Hunter season"! "Huff season gets a little slower in the summer and sprang, need something to do to keep my chops up", besides, I want to play the Les Paul and the 335 that I stoled." "You figure it out".
Mark Johnson: Bassist
Mark was brought up on the bass and hasn’t laid it down since! Being shown the notes on the neck by his stepfather, he took it over and has never looked back!! With a kin eye and ear for what it takes to be a bass player and how to lock it down with the drummer
Mark and Chris are brothers from different mothers and is the groove machine behind The Fender Benders! Mark is also the chemist that makes sure that everyone knows where to be, when to be there and makes sure all the pieces are there to bake the right cake, musically speaking!! An angry scientist on bass, if you will!
Mark told me, “If it ain’t got soul and a groove, it ain’t shit”!! From the ashes of the hair bands he played for in the 80's to the Motown/Stax groove thang with The Benders, he’s rock solid! He may sic Chris on your ass if you ask, what’s a mole rat?!
Chris Hardesty: Drums, smokes and cheap beer!
Chris Hardesty is the drummer of all drummers - very kind but has a dark side. Chris plays with a lot of pain and anger, very skilled and is just as sharp as the Buck he keeps on his side hip. Chris has a very unusual way of playing but don't ever make fun of it or you just may find out how sharp that "Buck" is!!
Chris is also the drummer for that fat lip band Rufus Huff and also lays the groove with The Fender Benders. Chris told me, "Hey man, my style is mind over matter, if ya don't mind, it don't matter"!
When you're out to see The Mole Rats, The Fender Benders or The Huffs, keep an eye on this drummer, cause he'll be keeping an eye on you!!
To sum it up, I think these guys are just some good ole boys looking for a smoked pig, something to drank and somewhere to jam........yeah lets jam.
