Hmmmm well it all started for me at a very young age , I was about 8 or 9 years old when my cousins and I , would think we were the guys from the movie breakdance and we would also fight over who would play Turbo and Ozone and I would always get stuck playing the funny queer guy who whore the leotards called Adam ( ironic that! Considering my real name is Adam ) anyway , after a short time I kinda realised that being that guy wasnt very kool at all so I decided there needed to be a roll change , realised know one was taking the roll as the dj and latched on to the roll with dear life as time went on I realised my father had a turntable and lots of records too and I would scratch them away on this shitty old belt driven turntable for hours not knowing what the hell I was doin !!Now it was really cool havin older cousins that where into hiphop and electro back then cause they opened my eyes up to the music back then in the early 80s like Nucleus , Sugarhill gang , Mel and Kim , Herbie Hancock etc.. then all the late 80s Italian hip house stuff that I guess you could say paved the future of hiphop and dance music as we know it .
Now fast forward a few years and we get to the late 80s , Im a bit older about 12 y.o Im getting pocket money and birthday money and all that little coin you get when your a kid and just spending it all !!! on records , what ever I could get my hands on at HMV or brashes then a few years down the track and I managed to score some real crap turntables with no pitch control , but at that stage I still had know idea what the hell was going on but I thought I was kool cause at that time djing was this cool underground thing . I thought I was such a pimp when I was in high school with my crap decks and tunes haha , anyway Ill continue with la storay , when I turned 14 I started going to big raves and stuff with my Cousin Danny and our mates from school and that people was the beginning of the end !!! once you get that warehouse buzz you cant look back , hey I was still heavily into my hiphop but , House and techno was just a new dimension and so where the treats that floated around the warehouses .
I wanted to become this big superstar RAVE dj , but didnt know how I get there , then one day after smoking some dangerous Thai Buddha with my mate Sam Chew I realized something , I need to put my own parties on . if I play and book all the right guys that where playing and putting the parties on its gotta be a sure way to front my skills and lucky enough they where digging what I did and thats what started the ball rolling . Now for the production side of thing's well that started pretty early too , the high school I went to was a technology based high school and they had 2 major sponsors IBM and Roland , now what more could you need being a kid in love with electronic sounds and beats so from year seven I was playing around with notators , amiga trackers , sequencers , Synths , drum machines and samplers in my lunch breaks and any other free time I had . Now we head 13 years down the track Im 27 and still doing the same thing and its kinda funny I complain a lot to my friends about how tired ,exhausted and over it I am , but I always gotta take a step back and I realise I have probably the best job in the world , getting payed to party .
