The band is made up of Sean and Declan Cleary, twins who front the band vocally. Sean is also the songwriter and rythmn guitarist. Michael Timmons is the lead guitarist and Andrew Robertson is the bands bass player. Most recently, Scott Duff joined the band on drums. Also, in February 2008 Tom Hindmarsh became the bands manager. The band have a laid back, melodic sound, which they believe gives them originality. The band originally played venues around the Glasgow area, such as Classic Grande, The Box and Arta. However, this is just a few in a list of a number of Glasgow venues the band have played. Yet SpearBrave have not just played in Glasgow, but have visited Edinburgh, London and Newcastle on several occasions. Even though the band has only been together around two years and have an average age of 18, they have been very successful in various competitions. Their first major success was in the Emergenza music competiton where they played alongside 14 other bands in the Scottish final held at the Glasgow Carling Academy. Following this they then entered the Scottish Sun winadeal event, which saw the band perform at Arta infront of various music experts; most notably, Bryan Tolland ( ex Del Amitri guitarist) and David O'Hagan of Mercury Records. Both enjoyed the band's performance stating they had real potential to become a big stadium band. The band most recent success was appearing in the National Live and Unsigned Final held in Newcastle. SpearBrave have also recorded a demo in YipJump studios in Glasgow, which was produced by Alan Cuthbertson, who has worked with artists such as Seal. The band aim to use 2008 to gain more exposure and establish themselves as one of the most well known unsigned bands in Glasgow.
