About Me

Welcome to MySpace.
It is a pleasure to meet you.
I love meeting new people and his page is a great place for me to connect with new and old friends.
Well, first of all let me say I am definitely an EMPOWERED and INSPIRED person. I am also a very grateful person.
Let me tell you a little bit about myself…
I’m originally from Fairfield County, CT, which is just north of NYC. I graduated from a small private school called Greens Farms Academy. Originally I never wanted to go to this school and the only reason that I attended this school was because of my mother’s persistence and a full scholarship. My mom is truly amazing. My parents were recently divorced at the time and neither one of them could afford to pay the $17,000 tuition (not even close!) to send me to this school. Not sure why I was awarded this Full Scholarship considering I was mostly a C student including my years at Florida State University. Nevertheless, despite my initial resistance I attended Greens Farms from 2nd Grade through Graduation. I spent a lot of time hanging around with the wrong people outside of school but somehow I developed friendships and connected with some great people at school. These are the friendships that I still maintain and value today. At times I felt out of place going to Greens Farms but looking back I see that it wasn’t the worst thing in the world for me...
I was never a good student in school but ironically today I am very good Student. I love to read...Definitely one of my favorite things to do.
Upon Graduation I decided to go Florida State University. From the time I was very young I always knew that I wanted to live in Florida. It was only a matter of time. I have a lot of family here and I was visiting my two cousins in Miami Beach for as long as I can remember. So deciding to go to Florida State University was a natural choice. What a great four years. I love Tallahassee and look forward to many future visits...
After my first year in College I came back home started working with a Company called Vector Marketing. My summer job at 19 was to work in Direct Sales selling CUTCO Knives in people’s houses. My parents were extremely skeptical and pessimistic but I knew in my gut that this was an opportunity for me to pursue. There was something about the people that I initially met. I could tell they were very high quality people. The office had a great culture and I knew instantly I was going to be a part of it. It turned out that I had stumbled into the #1 office in the Company. I was fortunate to work with some incredible leaders. People that really brought out the best in me. Because of their leadership I was able to sell $38,000 worth of product and be one of the top students in the nation out of over 50,000.
That was a life changing summer and I learned things like belief, overcoming fear and rejection and the power of a positive attitude. I learned a lot in a very short period of time and I had a blast! Within weeks I was earning weekly commission checks of $1,000, $2,000 and then $3,000. This was a turning point in terms of how I thought about Wealth and Money. In reality this is not that much money but it seemed like it at the time because before this summer I was working at a snack bar for $8.00/hr! But what was really valuable was not the money it was the personal growth and the relationships that I developed. That summer turned into working with the company for over 5 years, from June of 2001 to August of 2005. I worked my way up each summer to become a Branch Manager and later District Manager. I had the opportunity to advertise, interview, train, manage and lead a lot of great sales people (mostly college students). I did have some struggles and growing pains but overall, it was a great experience, which I am very grateful for. But by August of 2005 I knew it was time to move on.
So back to Florida State…I was working with Vector in the summer time but in the meantime I was having a blast at school. I spent most of time with my ex girlfriend. She lived in my apt with me and three of my great friends and roommates. There were four of us and we all had girlfriends. Plus we lived in a huge apt in a brand new complex. Too many stories to mention here...but all in all it was a great four years!
So after working with the company I ended up as a District Manager here in Fort Myers, FL. By the way I love it here in South West Florida! I lived with my ex-girlfriend in our apt and all in all life was very good. Life could not have been better, or so I thought...
One morning after a silly argument we had the night before she simply told me she no longer wanted to be with me. She was no longer in Love. We had been together for almost four years starting when she was 18 and she wanted to be on her own now. I was shook, to say the least! I can laugh about it now, but it definitely wasn’t funny at the time! This was May of 2006. I felt like a lost of part of me…. Yeah, yeah, you know how that story goes! Well, for most of 2006 I felt sorry for myself and even though I did not let a lot of people know it, I was not doing so well.
I had let my health deteriorate and I wasn’t exercising or eating very well. Work was going o.k and I was going out pretty often and drinking. All in all I guess you could say I was living an AVERAGE life for about 7-8 months. The comfortble life. I had lost my passion. It was a downward spiral that started when my ex-girlfriend decided she wanted to move on...
Fast Forward to NOW.
I'm in the best shape of my life Physically, Mentally and Spiritually.
Looking back that experience truly empowered me. I learned a simple yet powerful lesson: Happiness can only come from one person.
I'm grateful for everything and everyone in my life and I am also empowered to take action everyday creating exactly the kind of life that I desire and I'm having a lot of fun doing so...
Now it's my turn to learn about you!
Feel free to shoot me a message. I love meeting new people.
All the Best,
-Robert

I'd like to meet:

"There are three kinds of people in the world today. There are well poisoners, who discourage you and stomp on your creativity and tell you what you can't do. There are lawn mowers-people who are well intentioned but self absorbed: they tend to their own needs, mow their own lawns, and never leave their yards to help another person. Finally their are life enrichers-people who reach out to enrich the lives of others, to lift them up and inspire them. We need to be life enrichers, and we need to surround ourselves with life enrichers." -Walt Disney
