As an aspiring music producer / songwriter, Quincy Lowe sat in the studios of Coming Attractions and watched as producers produced sub-standard tracks. Thinking to himself that he could succeed in the music business as a music producer, Quincy began trying his hand at making tracks. As he perfected his craft, he eventually became one of Coming Attractions’ premiere producers.
After Coming Attractions collapsed, Quincy ventured out on his own continuing to try to make a name for himself as a premiere music producer. Seeing the need to create some sort of production team, Quincy and his twin brother, Quentin birthed TrashyBeats Music Production. Now being the only music producer with TrashyBeats, it was time for him to really get on the grind.
Through the years, Quincy worked with many aspiring artist from the DC area, but none gave him his big break. It wasn’t until 2004, when he was given an opportunity to work with 295, a hot R&B group from Washington, DC. Although this group never managed to get a recording contract, and eventually disbanded, all was not lost for Quincy. One of the group members managed to get a record contact as a solo artist based on songs produced by Quincy. This artist turned out to be one of the hottest R&B acts of 2007. You all know him as J. Holiday. Not only did these tracks aid J. Holiday in obtaining a recording contract with Capitol Records, one track, Back of My Lac, eventually became the title track for J. Holiday’s debut album. Back of My Lac is currently the 1 R&B/Hip-Hop album in the country according to Billboard.com.
With this success, Quincy has become a demanded music producer in the DC area. Recently, he inked a production deal with Sahara Garey, teen star from the hit movie “Akeelah and the Beeâ€, to produce tracks for her upcoming album. He has also worked with talented singers Jessica Johnson and Sanjay. Quincy has teamed up with Dwayne Lee of Familiar Faces, and up and coming singer, songwriter Matthew Pinkney (p/k/a Marquiesse) to produce some of the hottest tracks Washington, DC has ever heard. The sky is the limit for him now.
