"ARTIST/ALBUMS THAT WE HAVE WORKED ON"

WHO WE ARE

Singing/Song writing/production team, Lisa Simmons & Flinstone collectively have written and produced songs for such artist as Fantasia, JoJo, Kelly Rowland, Jeannie Ortega, Sunshine Anderson, Kelly Price, Oliva, Juice, Michelle Williams, Howard Hewitt, Randy Crawford, Mary Mary, Backstreet Boys, and Kasey Butler. They have also written for Television and Film, such as " Save the last dance 2", and "Hair Show". “It’s always about the song” is their motto, but humble beginnings have made them appreciate all the intricate details in making music.

ABOUT LISA SIMMONS

Lisa Simmons a Los Angeles native began her musical career while she was attending the “Los Angeles County High School For The Arts”. Production Team “SoulShock & Karlin” who are best known for such hits as Whitney Houston’s “Heart Break Hotel” and Fantasia’s “Truth Is” to name a few, together with Elektra Records, Signed Lisa to a joint record deal under Sylva Rhone’s direction. It was during this time that Lisa discovered that she could write and ended up writing nine out of twelve songs, including her first single to be released on Elektra Records.

Her first official placement was on “Juice” a pop Danish girls group, where she wrote the single “Down for you Love” and “Should have been there”. Although writing overseas was a wonderful opportunity, Lisa really wanted to focus and write songs for other US artist more frequently, but getting music out there was not as easy as she would have hoped for. “ I remember feeling overwhelmed with the fact that I could not get a musical track to save my life. It was so difficult because I would have songs in my head, and no music to put it to. I would literally just listen to other artist songs, tune them out, and write to the music behind them.

I think people would be shocked to know that a few of my songs were written that way, but I had no choice I had to do what I had to do, and after a while of writing this way, I decided that I was going to have to produce music myself, so I sold some CD’s of a few of my songs to create revenue, purchased logic, and shortly after began making tracks” “I did this for a short time, but it was necessary because it allowed me to expand beyond singing, and writing and discover something new as far as actual production, It was a humbling experience for me”. “I believe that is why God blessed me with having Flinstone as a music partner, because he shares that same commodity”

ABOUT FLINSTONE "STONE"

Flinstone had a very similar musical up bringing. Hailing from Tucson, Arizona, while still in high school, Flinstone met Harvey Mason of the Underdogs, best known for songs such as “ Mario’s “How Could You”, Omarion’s “O” and “Dream Girls Soundtrack”. He was the first artist signed to Harvey Mason, and under Harvey’s Direction he was to sign a deal with MCA Records; but due to changes in the company Flinstone got lost in the shuffle, and decided to nurture his desire to produce music. Now with Harvey teaming up with Damon Thomas of the Underdogs, Stone was producing on such projects as RL from Next and Kevon Edmonds.

“Working with Harvey and Damon was amazing, a lot of long hours, music production, and great work ethics "It was like a factory, If you worked hard, then the result would be great music”. It was these work ethics and great music that led Flinstone to work with Warryn Campbell known for mega Gospel artist “Mary, Mary”. With these heavy hitters under his belt, he only worked harder to utilize the gifts in which he was given and fate would have it that he met Lisa while working with Soul Shock & Karlin.Together they worked hard writing, singing and producing songs for Soulpower. Flinstone was the first producer to have a co-production song with the duo for the Fantasia song that he and Lisa co-wrote entitled, “Said I wouldn’t, No More”.

“It was a great experience for me because the guys are so open to different ideas, and it allowed for creativity to be the catalyst. It also gave me time to sing again on some of the songs, by Lisa producing my vocals, which is something that a lot of people don’t know; which is that both Lisa and I sing all the demos for our songs. There are times where we feel like we want a certain sound vocally so we may use another vocalist to demo it, but majority of the time it’s us working as one self-contained unit; but at the same time we know and understand that you can’t just be in your own world entirely. "It’s great to work with other creative people, because you never know what you may learn, and there is always room for growth in anything that you do”.

"HEATROX ENTERTAINMENT"

“Our main goal as a whole is to make sure that each song we do represents what everyday people are feeling, wherever you are and who ever you are, we all experience love, love lost, hurt and pain, having money one day and being broke the next. This rise and fall will never change, so musically we have a huge and great opportunity to evoke these emotions in the best way possible”
