An introspective lyricist the likes of which are rare in the today’s hip-hop, Supa’s debut CD entitled “Hood Musik” is a breath of fresh air to anyone who feels that the rap genre has lost it’s way amongst a plethora of monotonous beats and nursery rhyme lyrics. Mr. Incredible himself chimes in on the subject numerous times throughout the CD, most notably on the energetic, “What U Waitin’ 4?” where he raps, “The game is different/ it looks like the aim has shifted/ we let a lot of bullshit slip in/ but don't trip cause I'm still in the kitchen/ and cooking up the realest of meals is my mission.” With songs that touch on a number of topics and emotions such as “Boy Meets Girl” the southern inspired “Like That” and the motivational “Gotta Make It”, Supa really shows off his versatility and strong lyrical ability. If you are looking for an artist and CD to restore your faith in the art of hip-hop Super Dave is that artist and Hood Musik is that CD.
