Hello!

My name is Matthew. I was born and raised in London, England. I began learning the Piano and Guitar at thirteen years of age and later studied composition and orchestration.
I trained at the Guildhall School Of Music and Drama as an undergraduate, and Surrey University studying classical guitar and composition on a Masters Degree programme under Dr S.Goss: During this period I was fortunate enough to receive masterclasses from musical giants Nicholas Casken, and Oscar winning composer, Gabriel Yared (famous for The English Patient and Betty Blue Eyes).
In addition to the above institutions I studied with a number of subsequent private tutors, including orchestration with Baz Elmes, (For Your Eyes Only, RoboCop) and guitar technique under Gary Ryan, professor of Guitar at the Royal College of music. The man I really cut my teeth under though was Dr Martin Vishnick whom helped me gain Licentiates from the Royal Schools and London Colleges Of Music. Martin is the man who really made me believe in myself again. I am indebted to his kindness to me.
For seven years I had been teaching and doing local performances while in my spare time I composed and studied music. In 2006 and thirty years of age my luck was about to change; a routine publicity e mail was sent to BBC Radio. Much to my excitement I received a call from the shows' producer asking me perform on The Jonathon Withell Sunday morning show.
The show marked a massive personal turning point for me career wise as only half a decade earlier I was lost both musically and spiritually, the show proved to me not only how far I had come but how anything was possible.A week later I made my London debut performing at the beautiful St Paul's Church , Covent Garden, London and subsequently signed to a local label "Pixie Tricks."I haven't looked back since involving myself in a variety of music projects I have played on film soundtracks as well as releasing 2 albums of Classical music; and have written music for solo Piano, string quartet, rock band ensemble, gypsy jazz string ensemble and my greatest love the Classical Guitar!Currently I am active as a full time musician, teaching the Guitar (I now have 82 pupils) and performing and composing too. Next year I am releasing a recording through MSR classics, which for the first time in my career will mean my music is distributed worldwide.
I am indebted to three musicians: Dr Steve Goss for expanding my mind and understanding of music, Dr Martin Vishnick for inspiring me and teaching me to fight the good fight! and lastly the spirit of the late Randy Rhoads, whose music has left a mark in me as both a musican, and a human being
Aside from music some of my interests are film (science fiction, action and drama), mystery novels, Biographies, space, philosophy, theology and visiting Pizza restaurants and good pubs
