Starting my career in music some 15 year ago where I hooked up with the infamous Ian Dewhirst at Mastercuts I have gone on to remain in music despites it's crucial changes and pitfalls; I have asked myself why seeing as there are many arseholes in the industry but as I can name them all on one hand it seems a shame to put all in music in the same camp cos there are some great folk too.Having done a stint with independent labels I soon cottoned on that to make any real money you have to go it alone, I did and I did. I introduce the birth of 'The Premium Music Company Limited'. Specialising in compiling compilations for top brands and promotional CD give aways (throw) for national news papers and magazines. Premium later went on to become one of the biggest independent special projects company, out doing some of the majors when producing marketing strategies for the likes of Lynx, Smirnoff, Malibu, Bacardi, MOBO and so forth. Anyway as part of a duo which fell apart at the seams in 1999 I headed off to a sunnier climate, Miami! where I continued to produce premium product for drink brands across America. Someone had to do it, and it could make you a tidy fortune so why not me? Living in Miami though had its downside, like any country you get board of too much of a good life, Sun Sea, Sand and Sangria. So! Headed off to a cooler climate, New York City. Here things got more interesting as I started working with a great producer Doug Grey to name only one as there were many, he was producing some fantastic material. Sadly his life took a serious turn of events and needless to say no more great sounds, (wonder where he is now?) Determine to stay in New York I hooked up with Tony White, WBLX radio presenter, fabulous guy, we went on to write a radio show Total Music Request which piloted but that was it. Before our time I say, because now they want a piece of our ass. Keeping up the great work I stayed in NYC till visa expired and then continued to commute believe it or not for many years, three months hear three months there till I was completely satisfied that the NYC blood had run from my veins and I returned back to the UK permanently in October 2004. Once again I found myself hooking up with Ian Dewhirst, now the talent behind the Salsoul re-issuing series under the guise of Suss'd Records, Islingston. A label / office manger was needed and I assisted him with that in May 2005. By 2006 Ian, started looking at other projects to get him excited, His Book!!!! So as you can imagine, once you loose your creative sauce and inspiration its time to pick up, dust yourself down & start all over again. May 5th 2006, an exact year to the date I left the salsoul camp. Looking to work close with Marc Cerrone and Nile Rogers I hooked up with Rosalia Ferrera to embark on a great experience, the Biggest Dance party to take place on October 8th 2007 in New York City, Central Park. Watch this space. However before this was to happen Rosalia & I were to release an unofficial world cup anthem to celebrate England in the 2006 world cup. What a F**king mistake that was, not the single the TEAM and its manager. After many headaches, plenty of gigs, PA's with BEZ and Domino Bones feat Monica Ward the single come out. Well behind schedule, Distributors still haven't quite got what it takes to really sell in your records, they are order takers, then England were OUT. Oh well, next time it will be for Italy or France. So now July 2006 and I find myself at Kickin Music www.kickinmusic.com and the story begins........ Albeit I will continue to consult and still be on the look out for artist to become members of MDT.I am now fortunate to be managing Rock band The VOXX who know the streets of London very well. Singer and guitarist Mikey Buckley, bassist Dan McLean and drummer Claude Trejonis have spent the last couple of years putting it about, on a near constant tour of the hippest clubs and filthiest pubs our fair city has to offer. They have seen adventures aplenty along the way too. Like when they supported Babyshambles at a secret London gig. Or their shows alongside contemporaries like The Rifles, The Subways, The View and The Mystery Jets; not to mention elder statesmen like the Yardbirds and Steve Diggle of the Buzzcocks.
