About Me

Hi I'm Louis.
From the age of 5, I started drumming and learning every style of music with session drummer Brendan Day. At the age of 11, I started having lessons with Steve Washington (Former Take That drummer) & Steve Elliott (Session Player) developing my performance, sight reading and funk skills.
In 2003, Steve Washington and I set up the popular store Drumskool.co.uk where we both taught during the week. In 2004, I created a pop punk band called Outrage and auditioned for members in the Manchester area.
Whilst practicing and session playing in various bands, I had also been auditioning for Young Drummer of the Year in 2005 where I soon became a finalist. Following the success of being a finalist, I obtained lucrative sponsorship from various leading manufacturers of music equipment including; Premier Percussion, Paiste Cymbals, Big Dog Drum Stuff, May Internal Microphones and Roland Electronics all of which I still use and promote.
After young drummer of the year I was introduced to Steve White (Paul Weller,The Style Council/The Who) and began having lessons with him each time he was in the Manchester area.
Eventually at the age of 15, my band Outrage became a huge hit in many High schools around Manchester giving me the opportunity to then become a drum tutor within some of these schools.
After many late nights rehearsing, going to school and drum tutoring, Outrage was soon to hit the screens nationwide playing live for the first on GMTV and Newsround. This was shortly followed by interviews with radio stations in and around London.
In 2006, I joined a Blues Rock band called 'The Authority' and gigged bigger ‘academy’ style venues supporting the likes of Yngwie Malmstein and Walter Trout. Later on that year I was introduced to and met L.A music producer Mike Raphael, who more recently had worked with Busted, Mcfly and Son of Dork. Seeing great potential in the band, he offered to work with Outrage and July 2006 Outrage appeared in 'Top of the pops magazine' for the first time, rapidly boosting the fan base.
In the summer of 2006, Outrage supported major acts such as Matt Willis and even appeared in teen magazines worldwide as far as Malaysia.
Outrage once again appeared on nationwide television during Christmas 2006, with frequent repeats to date, on BBC1's hit children show, ‘The Slammer’, playing a punked up version of 'Santa Claus Is Coming to Town' (a preview of this can be found in my videos).
Overall I have worked with many artists and producers as a live or recording session player (artists can be found on the left of my myspace page). Most recently, I have teamed up with Greg Haver and Outrage to record the song, 'Gonna Be Mine Tonight' (playing on my music player).
Currently I am still tutoring, drumming with Outrage and working with other artists so, keep an eye out for me in 2008 as I am sure to be hitting your screens somewhere in the near future. Keep checking back to my page as I will be keeping it up to date with news, views and reviews on all the projects I am working with.
Louis
