LOST IN FIJI

About Me

11th June 2008:
'Lost in Fiji' are a brand spankin' new pop band based in London.
With driving bass lines, bright guitar sounds, catchy lyrics, fantastic melodies and a nice looking drum kit what more could you ask for?
The first thing that hits you when you meet the band is how enthusiastic and refreshing the guys are. These lads really enjoy what they do and are itching to let you know why. Lost in Fiji are Tom and Johnny from South London with the 3rd member, Max the drummer, literally ‘Lost in Fiji’, but returning soon.
“We met through a friend at 14” says bass player Johnny, “We got chatting after watching each other in different bands, then decided to get together and write some songs”. “All of our mates were doing covers but I wanted to do my own stuff” says lead singer and main songwriter Tom, “I actually set out to be a solo artist, writing my own songs and being centre of attention, but once Johnny and I began writing it just felt right”. “We have both had opportunities to be part of bands such as ‘Son of Dork’ and ‘Elliot Minor’, but either it didn't work out or it didn’t feel right, it was all too moulded”.
The band already have an albums worth of material and have been rehearsing hard before embarking on building a solid fan base through live gigs. “That’s our main thing” says an enthusiastic Tom, “we want to gig, gig and gig, gain a fan base and then have a reason to be arrogant”
And who can blame him, with great songs under their belt, a fantastic live performance and a super confident lead singer, make sure you catch Lost in Fiji live at a gig near you and discover for yourselves why they are rapidly gaining big support wherever they go!
“We love it” says Tom, “can’t wait to get out there” says Johnny.

Hey Guys,
WOW! What a crazy month it's been already! For those of you who have not realised yet...we have a new drummer! He is called Chris and he's lovely! We are in the process of booking gigs for the next few months and hopefully there might be a recording opportunity on its way soon!

Our next gig is tomorrow at: The Water Rats - London 22/04/09, be there or be a pear!
Meanwhile, Tom is playing for Gary Phelan and his band so check out: 'www.myspace.com/garyphelan' for details on Gary's up coming live shows.

What has been said about Lost in Fiji:

"Lost in Fiji create 'pop with an edge 'and describe themselves as a 'happy rock band.' Their songs are catchy with some great hooks.'Peace and Quiet' was outstanding and it might be worth their while to look at what makes this song so memorable. Their energy was infectious and the audience had started dancing by song 4. Tom Rowland gives a strong performance, Johnny Ashby is a good enough bassist not to have to roam the stage for most of the performance and Max Taylor adds stong, confident drums to the mix. They came well prepared with an army of followers who helped to create an atmosphere that lifted all the band’s performances on the night."
