My Interests

Diffusing tantrums. Attempting to finish writing things. Music. Taking pictures . Books. Coffee. 826 . Good beer. T-shirts, especially with trees and/or birds on them. Wiener dogs. Text messages. Mockery and sarcasm, intended lovingly. Long socks, preferably striped. Listening to certain songs over and over again. Performing mundane tasks at workshops. Cheese enchiladas. Short stories. Not acting my age. Staying up all night. Sleeping in.

I'd like to meet:

New words for old desires.

Music:

At the moment: pretty much just Rilo Kiley. Whatever that says about a person.

Movies:

are lovely, and I need to see them more often.

Television:

can also be lovely, but is more likely to be obnoxious when there is a 5 year old controlling the remote. I look forward to the day when she appreciates British sitcoms.

Books:

Authors are simpler: Salinger, Dave Eggers, Michael Chabon, Bradbury, Vonnegut, Lorrie Moore, Amy Hempel, Tom Robbins, David Sedaris, Nick Hornby, Jeffrey Eugenides, Jonathan Safran Foer, Julie Orringer, Russell Banks, Augusten Burroughs, Sarah Vowell, Charles Baxter, Nicole Krauss, Michael Cunningham...

Currently reading: Yellow Dog by Martin Amis, In a Bear's Eye by Yannick Murphy, Sudden Fiction, Where I'm Calling From by Raymond Carver, and assorted English and Philosophy textbooks.
Recently read: Aloft by Chang Rae Lee, The History of Love (again) by Nicole Krauss, The PowerBook by Jeanette Winterson, Invitation to Poetry (it's not inviting).
Always reading:Siste Viator by Sarah Manguso.

Heroes:

See above.
