Any and all genres, most things well-made/well-meant. For broadcast radio I go for jazz or classical because there's no commercials but I like all types of recorded music, especially excellent/interesting underground-indie stuff. When I go to shows it's never big: always local and intimate, basements and bar rooms. See my friends list for some groups that I like.Recently, I have become and enthusiast of Pandora.com
I like good films of any stripe but have a sweet tooth for quality horror, a la "The Exorcist" or "The Descent." I don't think "Audition" really counts as a horror movie, but I loved it nonetheless.
I subscribe to the theory that everything good on TV starts with the letter 'S': The Simpsons, Sesame Street, Seinfeld, Six Feet Under, Star Trek. There are of course exceptions that prove the rule both ways: Step-by-Step, which sucks, and The Wire, which is excellent.

This concept is too often abused. Half of the people who get called heroes are just doing their jobs or doing what any decent person would.
