About Me

Comments on Two Dogs, A Television:
"[A]n almost heartbreakingly spare album, steeped as much in folk and country as in shoegaze and psychedelia... spacious and richly-produced."
Robin Hilton, NPR's Second Stage
"Reverb, guitars, low-key vocals, more reverb, and sparse drumming... Fantasies of Lou Reed, The Pixies, The Cure, and even David Bowie can be heard reflecting around the reverb chamber, coaxing bittersweet sensations and an inverted nostalgia... [B]ears the stamp of time and care given to making an artistic vision a reality."
Ryan Cunningham, Recoil Magazine
"If you like the idea of Bedhead mixed with Brian Jonestown Massacre filtered through The Velvet Underground, you'll like this band."
Randy Bishop, I'dDream.com
"[M]inimal, ambient but ultimately rewarding music... recalls bands such as the Cowboy Junkies, Velvet Underground, Spacemen 3 and others. The album is surprisingly melodic, hypnotically likable."
John Sinkevics, Grand Rapids Press

From a home recording project in 1999, to a full fledged band in 2001, Michigan area band Fields of Industry has played a varying blend of styles and volumes ranging from an eclectic nine-piece lineup to a minimalist two-man band. Lately FoI's stuff draws on VU-style rock and ambient free music with Barton's distinct vocals acting as the centerpiece for most songs. Will play at your house tonight!
