I love learning new things, reading, history, genealogy, science (especially geology), the supernatural, cemeteries, animals, computers, spending time with my husband, kids, and parents. Sleeping is always a good thing, although I don’t get enough of it.
I'd like to meet:
I would love to meet my ancestors and talk to them about how life was for them, the struggles and triumphs they’ve experienced, what their daily life consisted of, how they lived, why they decided to come to America, etc. I’d also like to have met Lucille Ball (she is my all time favorite actress). Living peeps...not too sure, there are several celebrities, extended family members I’ve never met that I’d like to. Geez....I have to think about this more!
Music:
I like most music, although I can definitely live without rap...that crap gets on my nerves faster than anything! Country is not too bad, I like the rock sounding country like Toby Keith, or Gretchen Wilson, not the whiney twangy old type of blue-grass country. I guess my favorite music to listen to is oldies from the 60's and 70's, and some 80's. I probably should start listening to the top 40 stations....but other than while driving, I don’t have time to listen!
Movies:
I have a few favorite movies that I can watch over and over, and never get tired of! The Long, Long Trailer, That Thing You Do, My Cousin Vinny, Coal Miners Daughter, To Wong Fu, Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure, Independence Day (watch it every 4th of July), Rocky Horror Picture Show, and I’m sure there are many more HA!
Television:
I don’t get a chance to watch very much TV, but I do like watching Survivor, American Idol, Everybody Loves Raymond, King of Queens, What Not To Wear, Animal Planet, and of course I Love Lucy! I know there are more, but for now, this is what comes to mind.
Books:
Most of the reading I do is for school...boring text book stuff, but when I do read for fun, I like fiction. I’m not much into the romance novels, I have read them, but they are not my favorite. I started the Left Behind series a few years ago, and I’m working on finishing those. I’d like to try some mystery novels, but who knows when I’ll get to enjoy those!
Heroes:
My biggest hero is my mom. She is truly incredible! She has survived several bombings of her hometown in Germany during WWII (she has some fascinating stories to tell from WWII, and has come close to losing her life). Raised 6 children basically by herself (my father worked out of the country a lot), sacrificed more than anyone could imagine for her family, she always was, and will always be a very humble, selfless woman. She is now 81 years old, and is like the energizer bunny, she keeps going and going! She works full time at IRS, takes care of my father (he has Alzheimer’s), and all the household chores. Many times she has walked over a mile to the grocery store because she did not want to burden any of us kids to take her grocery shopping. What else can I say about my mom? She is truly the best, and greatest mom there is!!
