************************************************************ **Hanky Panky Records is a small indie label founded by a bunch of music lovers who just wanted to put out the records they love. And so far so good, since not only have they managed to re-release two of the most wonderful and underappreciated long players of early 70s pop: ex-Honeybus members Pete Dello and Colin Hare solo albums from 1971, but they continue in their endeavour putting out some of the best pop and country rock made today. The former represented by L.A. based popster Andrew Sandoval (his 33: The Best of Andrew surveys his 10 years-long career in 20 songs, including 6 exclusive tracks), and the latter by London based and Wranglers wearing Alan Tyler & The Lost Sons of Littlefield, whose debut CD is simply the best alt-country (or call it what you want -but with a stress on the country side, please) album youll hear this year (or any other, for that matter).Its fair to say that Hanky Panky draws its inspiration from the numerous indie labels that through the years have put out, and continue to do so, the music they love no matter the trends or commercial considerations of the day. And to do so in the most beautifully presented manner possible (digipak format for the CDs, putting out vinyl editions, 7 singles...)************************************************* *************Pese a que en un inicio Hanky Panky Records surgía de cara al público como página web de venta por correo, la consecuencia lógica de la pasión compartida por la música de todos los que formamos HPR, no podía ser otra que la creación de un sello discográfico. Un vehículo de expresión a través del cual poder dar rienda suelta a nuestros más bajas pasiones musicales. Aquellas por las que tal vez nadie más apostaría, pero que para nosotros suponen algo especial e íntimo. Algo que no atienda ni a modas ni a tendencias coyunturales y oportunistas, sino que sea deudor exclusivo del gusto de sus promotores, con ese algo que, esperamos, lo haga tan especial para ti como lo es para nosotros. Dependencia de nuestros gustos e independencia de todo lo demás. Ese es nuestro leit motiv. Ya sea un grupo australiano de fino pop-rock, un cantautor de raíces yankee, un incunable clásico de la post-psicodelia inglesa, o un conjunto de surf instrumental de Toledo, si nos gusta y emociona haremos todo lo posible por editarlo en HPR.Además de, lógicamente, al aspecto musical, queremos dar gran importancia al formato y presentación de nuestras referencias. En la medida en que podamos trataremos de realizar ediciones limitadas en vinilo de los discos que editemos, además de editar ediciones exclusivas en vinilo en formato 7 pulgadas. Por otro lado, las ediciones en CD estarán siempre cuidadas al máximo: digipacks, libretos, textos, fotos, etc.
