Writing of all sorts, sci-fi and epic fantasy novels, comics and more comics, hiking, running, yoga, martial arts, meditation, philosophy ( Socrates is the man! ), camping and outdoors stuff, RPG gaming, Japanese, Russian, chess and anything else that catches my interest.
Chess
Ghandi. The original Buddha. Writers and artists of all sorts, especially those with a taste for fantasy or science fiction. Interesting people of all sorts. People who enjoy a good story or any of my odd interests.
I like a lot of different stuff ... can't list all the bands, nor do I really want to. Just to give you a taste of some of them, here's a few of my faves:Tool, A Perfect Circle, Pearl Jam, Audioslave, Pink Floyd, Enya, NIN, Skinny Puppy, 16 Volt, Front Line Assembly, KMFDM, Smashing Pumpkins, Alice in Chains, Velvet Revolver, Coldplay, Led Zepplin, and a whole bunch of other bands.
ANIME! Ghost in the Shell, Tenchi Muyo, Cowboy Bebop and stuff like that. ( Dragon Ball Z sucks dead fish heads, don't even bring it up with me or you'll loose ten billion coolness points )I also really enjoy sci-fi stuff like Blade Runner, Minority Report, The Matrix, and Aliens. All of the LOTR films. Anything that opens up my mind or makes me think.
I don't really watch a lot of television, but I am enamoured of some of the more interesting shows they sometimes have on the discovery channel. Maybe some CSI, X-Files, Stargate ( Sg-1 and Atlantis ), Battlestar Galactica and some of the Anime they have on Adult Swim.
Steven Erikson --- I wish I could write as well as him!
J.R.R Tolkien --- We must all respect the original master.
George Martin --- All his characters die, but he's WAY better than me.
Sun Tzu --- Art of War ... need I say more?
Plato --- Because Aristotle bores me to tears.
Those who have the strength and conviction to both chase their dreams and to not allow those dreams to be crushed by the gears of our seemingly heartless society.Socrates, Tolkien and a host of men and women who have dared to think for themselves. Anyone willing to voice their own thoughts and be themselves, especially when either would rub against the grain of popular society. Be the gadfly!
