Uncle Donald,
Was every tasteful shade of green there is. His impeccable sense of style, a combination of old world French aristocracy, the light unique to northern New Mexico, and the genuine glamour of Beverly Hills, made an alluring environment. The whole earth was his garden and unlike any other that has been, is or will be. My deep love for him is surreal, visceral and varied. From the generous contribution he made with his taste adding to the success of the Pink Adobe to the sophistication he painted into my grandmother's bohemian wildness. Donald saw beauty where nature may have sometimes overlooked it. His amazing talent for drama and presence he shared with me throughout my life. He was my first and favourite movie star! He took to teaching me about silk scarves and cheese for breakfast and good antique chairs and the humour in people of "bad taste". There was always a subtext going on in his commentary of the world with which he shared eloquently.
On my first visit to New York he came in a town car and whisked me up to the Twin Towers to have a once in lifetime long lunch at the Windows of the World. He knew how to dine and socialize and inspire. His command of adjectives layred my poetic nature with a clear and fresh newness.
Sometimes I would houseit for him in his mother's house in my early twenties and he encouraged me with his wisdom to feed the birds, sip cocktails more slowly and dream of marrying a director. I wish I'd listened. In California at his pool, he preferred me in a solid colour of a one-piece suit and a long breaststroke. I would then compliment the chaise lounge chairs and the stone lions. Never in one single breath did he discount the art of living.
He was a gentleman who expressed life and luxury through velvet and wood and film and trees and benches and flooring and people. To this day, I remember one of his birthday parties as the most perfect party I'd ever experienced, as lovely as a high quality Amethyst crystal for this wonderful Aquarian. Donald became a living treasure as rare as a dinosaur from the best era of Santa Fe that laid the foundation of charm that we all benefit from today.
The blazer, the tie, the good haircut and the solid undiluted opinions brought confidence to my surroundings whenever we were together. He never forgot my birthday and my love of horses and his gifts were full of thoughfulness and decorative direction. He openly disliked my Nike shoes, and cell phones and always asked to keep my hair out of my face, "Show your bones Denise and enjoy good posture", as did his cat and his beloved dog Favour.
He is a complex white wine, a vase of white roses and the master of reflections a mirror will give to a room.
The world will not forget the eternal elegance of Murphy's light, Heaven is in for a stylish celebration.

ELEPHONICPortishead meets The Weekend Players with Elephonic, a four-piece group led by Anne Montone, whose sweet voice offers the whimsy of Rachel Foster and the subtle intensity of Bjork…. Together with Eddie Barajas on turntables, Jennifer Cook ..boards, and Joe Funkle on drums, Elephonic delivers an intimate show that is at once sexy and innocent, joyful, and sad…. Often elusive, whether playing soulful downtempo, sexy trip-hop, or experimental broken beat, their intimate show leaves you pondering the meaning of life, love, and, yes, happiness…†- LA.Flavorpill.Net (AM)
"......their creative partnership blossomed, but the girls felt their music was missing something...so they turned to Eddie, a mutual friend and DJ. "I set up my turntables on the floor and we would powwow around them, creating our own beats," Eddie recalls. "It started to come together." And right there - three friends huddled around the turntables, sharing ideas - Elephonic was born." Lisa Jenkins
DJ SANTA FECordero has been a Santa Fe resident since 1978 and the first to bring the role of DJ to the city. Disco was just beginning. His first performance started at the Senate Lounge in the summer of 1979 as he, his sister, Marghreta Cordero (local musician, Nacha Mendez), and Marcus Zafarano introduced Santa Fe's first two-turntable set up. The Senate Lounge was known for playing 45's and 12" disco remixes. The only catch was that the records were played on one turntable! In 1980, he was instrumental in the organization of Santa Fe's most illustrious nightclub El Paseo de La Luz,
which is the old theatre on San Francisco Street that most recently was the Banana Republic.

Other venues in the history of Santa Fe where he has spun include The Chase, Sams Back Door, Cactus Club, Rio Café, Club West, Edge, Club 414, Cargo Club, Aloha!, Double A Bar, and Bar B. Many dont realize that Cordero was the first to approach the owner of Double A Restaurant and convince him to host Wednesday and Saturday night dances. The rest is history as the Double A became The Paramount. His passion has been mentoring many aspiring Santa Fe DJ's who may now be aptly tagged "The Next Generation". He continues to create a learning environment for those who share similar musical interests. (Chris Bostwick/Human Rights Alliance Press Release)
It all started in 2001 with two guys and a good formula. First, the Brazilian DJ's/Producers Macau and VMC joined their talented music background to make hot tunes inspired by house music. Second, they needed a strong name which could express the real meaning of being DJ's and producers. So, ALTAR was chosen. We came from heaven. To bring you drums, happiness, dreams, fire and love sing the duo. ALTAR comes from the summit of the clubs to pray for the music; to pray for the dancefloor; to pray for the DJ's and to pray for the crowd. Their fast growing reputation was first built with the hit SEXERCISE, released in 2003 by SHEEVA RECORDS (12 vinyl - USA) and became the starting point that led them to the top parade of radios and clubs. The strong beat and exotic lyric were the perfect combination that called the attention of DJ's and producers. Most of them ranked some of ALTAR's tracks in their playlists. Some selected it to make part of special compilations because of that they had its music distributed around the world. As DJ's and producers by heart, ALTAR spins in top clubs, maintaining a special bond with their public. In fact, they inspire thousands of people to dance to exclusive remixes, that only can be heard in their live performances. Only the people who have the priviledge to dance to ALTAR live performances can express how original and energetic they are. They are not limited to play hits, but they also dance, sing unique songs, perform with special light effects and much more. Their charisma comes from the perfect synch between the music and the fans.
