Italian/Neapolitan singer Nina Pane San Severino is a legend in the New Haven Italian community as well as the entire east coast. Her mother was the late, great Giuseppina Pane who brought such great singers to America as Domenico Modugno (who wrote Volare), Giacomo Rondinella and the late Claudio Villa. The latter had a huge hit with the song "Non Pensare a Me". Upon hearing the voice of Nina Pane Sanseverino, he insisted that she sing the song instead of him. This, of course, was a great honor for her.
She has also sang with the great Jimmy Roselli, an Italian-American original, Lou Monte and Luciano Tajoli, to name just a few. She is a continued inspiration to singers from all over. She has performed at Yale University, Westbury Music Fair and many of the famous Italian feasts from San Gennaro in New York City to Boston and everything in Between. More importantly, she is a very humble person who can be found every week in church and annually sings "Oh Holy Night" at Midnight Mass. She is known as one of the nicest people you could ever meet.Biography written by: Aaron Caruso
