About Me

Clarinda, Iowa may be a small town, but its most well kept secret has a big voice and a talent for songwriting that couldnt be showcased until she ventured into a city where she could explore the music scene in its entirety. Jara sang her way to Music City with a song of faith and has found that her desires rest in the heart of country music. Graduating from NWMSU with a B.S. in Medical Technology, she spends her days in scrubs working as a microbiologist, testing for Tuberculosis and Parasites. It sounds interesting, but we hope not to find any songs about it on her debut album. ;) Though dedicated enough to her work she trades in her microscope for a microphone when she steps onto the stage to perform original songs. She has performed at the Bluebird Café, both as a singer/songwriter, and as a female vocalist for other songwriters. Other venues in which she has had the opportunity to showcase her talent include the Alabama Grill, Lyrix, The Commodore Lounge, and Mark Alan Springers Gym Jam, as well as performing as the female vocalist for John Kelly Gannett and singing harmony vocals at the Belcourt Theater for Billy Blocks Western Beat. Jara leads the life of a well polished city girl with a defined goal and a purpose in her step. The pursuit of her dreams may keep her focused on the days ahead, but this small town girl who has defined her life by her dreams, and continues to keep her faith alive as she sings without fear, sings for a love of her art and leads each song with a yearning for more.
