I love cycling, jogging and enjoying the outdoors. I have a keen interest in nature and wildlife, which also extends to a fascination with life in general - is there a god? why are we here? Where do all my socks go? etc. - questions which can never be answered but which I contemplate quite regularly. Beyond that I love listening to and playing music and I'm constantly thinking about the theory - I still don't understand it all, but the universal quality of musical language and expression seems to represent or reflect the symmetry and mathematical order of nature - maybe that's where my fixation lies. I play guitars, bass guitar, keyboards drums and sing, although guitar is my main instrument of choice, and I am very interested in language and literature so I love to compose music and am constantly jotting down or mentaly logging musical and lyrical ideas. Other interests include reading, writing and art - again, forms of expression. On a material plane my weakness lies in flamboyant dress and silver, I love unusual and unique pieces of silver. When I'm drained of inspiration I like to top up by becoming detatched, in a state of almost mindless self-indulgence which could be fuelled by all manner of vices...
People of a like mind who are genuinely into good music (regardless of genres) and of artistic persuasions. I'm not adverse to meeting anybody else either, I don't want to exclude anyone, but if you like 'hard-house' you can f**k off for a start!
In no particular order: A Perfect circle, Tool, System Of A Down, Soundgarden, Chris Cornell, Snot, Pearl Jam, Alice Cooper, GnR, Whitesnake, Led Zeppelin, Mansun, Radiohead, Deftones, Smashing Pumpkins, Bush, Devin Townsend, Strapping Young Lad, David Bowie, Dire Straits, Ry Cooder, Roy Harper, Steve Winwood, Peter Gabriel, Peter Green, Fleetwood Mac, Jimi Hendrix, Lynyrd Skynyrd, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, Dream Theatre, Frank Zappa, Pat Methene, Santana, Journey, Rush, Van Halen, Free, Aerosmith, Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots, Velvet Revolver, I Mother Earth, Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, Incubus, Primus, Nick Cave, Audioslave, Rage Against The Machine, Glass Jaw Red Hot Chili Peppers, Korn, Limp Bizkit, Machine Head, Amen, Fear Factory, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Ozric Tentacles, The Manic Street Preachers, Queen, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Cream, The Band, Steve Wonder, Cat Stevens, Leonard Cohen, The Beatles, Bob Marley, Rory Gallagher, Crash Test Dummies, Paul Simon, The Police, Madness, Supergrass, Ed Alleyne Johnson and many more - Pretty much anything excluding 'hard-house'!
I do enjoy films but I never get time to sit down and watch them. I love old 70's and 80's horrors - Halloween, A Nightmare On Elm Street - stuff like that! Otherwise, anything deep and thought provoking. And good comedies, I love the Cohen Brother's work - 'Oh Brother Where Art Thou' is a classic.
The odd documentary or comedy - again, I don't get the time.
I'm Stephen King mad. Favourites include; Desperation, The Regulators (written as Richard Bachman) and Black House (co-written with Peter Straub). Currently I'm on book seven of The Dark Tower series which is utterly gripping. Besides dark fantasy I enjoy books about history, philosophy, religion, science, and the natural world.
Chris Cornell, for his lyrical/song writing ability, coupled with a great voice. Gilmour, Hendrix, Satch. And Slash, for his 'I love sex, drugs and rock n' roll' image. People who do what they are doing for a cause - Rage Against The Machine for example - loud and possibly misleading to the youth, but I always got goosebumps with the sheer vehemence of Zack's performances - he really beleived in what he was singing about.
