If you were part of the 80's and 90's scene in NYC and NJ, you would have had to have lived under a rock not to have heard of ROXX ....Many of you still humm the songs and remember the unforgettable shows and after show parties that ROXX were famous for. We are all proud of what we did and what we took part of without knowing what it was....THE BEST TIMES OF OUR LIVES,- THE 80'S METAL SCENE!. Look around you now, on VH-1 & MTV, they can't get enough of us glamsters!! Things have come sort of "full circle" for us, and we hope that you all enjoy what we left behind.
New Yorkers Roxx were quite hot on the scene way back in 1989, lead singer Joey D'Angeli almost got the lead role and actually played several times with Skid Row before Sebastian Bach took over the helm. Unfortunately ROXX never got the deal from the major labels that they deserved.
Enter PERRIS records...
Almost like a forgotten fairy tale, PERRIS records had gotten hold of one of ROXX's old CD demos that had been circulating via the internet and through underground metalhead magazines , and well, the rest is history ...or should we say ...NOW!!
Almost 11 years later, after the break up of one of NYC most promising new Glam /Rock bands, PERRIS records (WWW.PERRISRECORDS.COM)has brought this underground NYC legend back to life!
If you remember, and were lucky enough to have attended one of ROXX's sold out shows , you'd most certainly compare it to a rush of sonic adrenaline backed by lasers, fireworks & and booming electronic-"not of this earth" drums. It truly was a "show" rather than a bar gig.
Outlaws , Fools & Thieves is a cohesive album. Like the first CD, ROXX has managed to use a sort of time travel , forgotten in the early 1990's to resurface. This is fresh out of the 1980's GLAM ROCK SCENE. Nothing but mastering has been done to these tracks. The band and the music have truly stood the test of time in many ways. ROXX has managed to leave it's sleazy little fingerprint on the NYC rock music scene. You never know, you may be browsing through old vintage Rock & Roll clothing stores in Greenwich Villiage and find yourself staring at at a "fossil" ROXX T- shirt , or maybe cruising down the Jersey turnpike and notice the old pink and black ROXX logo sticker faint and disappearing from the sun beating down on a toll basket.
ROXX LIVES!! Thanks to the memories and tracks burned on this still selling CD.
The last chapter has YET to be written....Trust me..........
