About Me

No one could ever fathom that Omaha, Nebraska would be the home of hip-hop’s next big star. But if Omaha could be the home of such greatness as Malcolm X, then it only makes sense that here, Scrybe would be found. Before most people even knew how to read or write, they relied upon “scribes” to speak the truth of the land and carry on the torch of knowledge for generations to come.
While there are not many outlets for Hip-Hop in Nebraska, Scrybe has still managed to accumulate a fairly impressive resume. Making his recording debut in 1998 as a member of the rap group “Penpals,” the 24-year old proceeded to start his own label, Liv Entertainment (pronounced live entertainment), which has released four albums to date, including his self-titled solo debut and most recent offering “Liv Muzik.” With the “Liv Muzik” album creating a heavy buzz for the rapper, Scrybe looks to seize the moment by preparing his next solo album tentatively titled “Rehab.” “Hailing from the Midwest, I’ve been able to listen to various forms of hip-hop. I was never limited to Dirty South music or choosing between East and West Coast rap when that whole thing was going on. I like all kinds of music, so I think it gives me an advantage,” says Scrybe. “My style has no limitations. I come off on all kinds of tracks. If it’s a crunk beat, I’ll get crunk. If it’s laid back, I’ll spit some smooth shit. I also have a very strong supporting cast. Having the people that I have around me makes my job a little easier. In addition to being one hell of a rapper, I also do a lot of promoting and networking to make sure all the DJ’s in the clubs and the radio stations, have the music. I’ve been all around the country promoting myself along with Liv Entertainment.”
It’s this kind of relationship building that has made both of his singles, “Lose Control” and “Do What U Do” so successful. “I’ve been doing music for years and it’s one of the most difficult art forms because it’s constantly changing. Being able to adjust with the times is what makes some of the better artists like Jay-Z, Outkast, and LL stand out” explains Scrybe.
Scrybe brings to the table a new flavor for everyone to consume, guaranteeing the “Rehab” album to be an instant classic. “Rhyme for rhyme, bar for bar, hook for hook--whatever the situation may be, I’m uncanny. I’m so polished now, music is second nature for me. I was always taught, when dealing with the best expect the best…and that’s me.”
