[ITA]Gli HELLRIDERS nascono a Cesena, nell'estate del 2005, dall'incontro di 4 musicisti dediti alla musica metal e già inseriti nella scena cittadina: Wole alla chitarra, Taio alla batteria, Michele al basso e Carlo alla voce. Le prime influenze musicali del gruppo si possono ricondurre fondamentalmente agli storici Pantera, ai BLS di Zakk Wylde e agli Slipknot: è su questa linea che gli HELLRIDERS decidono di dedicarsi immediatamente alla composizione di brani originali, evitando la "gavetta" delle cover, cosa che i singoli componenti avevano già affrontato nelle loro precedenti esperienze musicali. Lo stile del gruppo si può chiaramente ascoltare nel primo demo, "Takin' Posession ", registrato nei primi giorni del 2006 presso l'Officina 49 di Cesena. Il disco, composto di 5 brani (Who Am I, Price To Pay, Points Of View, Not Like Me, God's Defeat) non spicca certo per una ricca produzione, ma racchiude la prima essenza degli HELLRIDERS, ovvero grezza potenza su classico stile thrash metal con pesanti riff mid-time, che però strizza l'occhio a tempi dispari tipici del prog. L'accoglienza della critica è buona (EUTK assegna un soddisfacente 6,5 al disco), paragonando il suono del gruppo, oltre a quello delle già citate band, anche a quello dei monolitici PRONG. Tuttavia per volontà degli stessi HELLRIDERS, "Takin' Posession" non viene inviato a label o agenzie di booking, proprio perché considerato niente più di un demo registrato in 20 ore. Nel febbraio 2006 inizia l'attività live della band, che la porterà a suonare nella provincia di Cesena, Forlì e Rimini, in locali, pub e festival, con un notevole responso da parte del pubblico, fino a maggio, quando i quattro musicisti si sono ritirati in sala prove per comporre i brani per il nuovo disco. E' così che a settembre 2006 gli HELLRIDERS tornano all'Officina 49 per dare alla luce il loro primo vero e proprio EP, "Before You Can Build...", sempre auto prodotto dalla band. Questa volta le registrazioni godranno di più tempo, più fondi, e più esperienza da parte del gruppo e si protrarranno fino a metà novembre 2006. "Before You Can Build..." ha sicuramente segnato una svolta nello stile del gruppo: forti e sicuri della potenza del thrash classico, gli HELLRIDERS hanno ampliato i propri orizzonti musicali aggiungendo melodie più trascinanti ed accattivanti, tempi veloci con furiosi riff metal-core e complicate variazioni ritmiche. I nomi di riferimento questa volta si estendono anche a grandi band come In Flames e Lamb Of God. Il risultato è un suono sicuramente più maturo, più moderno e più accattivante, come ha dimostrato la reazione entusiastica del pubblico al primo concerto di presentazione del disco, avvenuto al Vidia Club a Cesena, il 14 ottobre. "Before You Can Build ..." è composto di 7 tracce: "Hellrider", "Blood On The Snow ", "Dominion Of The Instinct ", "Human To Human ", "Understand This ", "D.I.F.", "The Result" e presto verrà inviato a label in cerca di un contratto. Gli HELLRIDERS sono quindi ora pronti ad aprire una nuova stagione live.[ENG] The Hellriders are formed in Cesena, the summer of 2005, due to a come-together of 4 musicians that are into the metal music, as well as familiar with playing in groups: Wole on the guitar, Taio on the drums, Michele on the bass and Carlo as the singer. Their very first musical influences can be recognized fundamentally starting from the historical myth of Pantera, over the Zakk Wylde's BLS finishing with the Slipknot: that is the road that the Hellriders decide to take immediately to recording their own pieces, evading the usual start doing covers, something that the band members already experienced with their former bands. The bands stile can clearly be heard on their first demo, “Taking Possession”, recorded on the first days of the 2006 in the “Officina 49” (music center) of Cesena. The CD that contains 5 songs (“Who Am I”, “Price To Pay”, “Points Of View”, “Not Like Me”, “Gods' Defeat”) can't be called a “perfect” production, but shows the first essence of the Hellriders that catches the eye with the dis pair rhythm typical of the prog. The critics view turns out to be not so bad (EUTK gives a satisfying 6,5 for the CD) confronting the group, with the bands already quoted, with the monolithic Prong. As for the will of the Hellriders, “Taking Possession” is not sent to labels or booking agencies, for being just a demo recorded in 20 hours. In February of 2006 the bands' live activities start to take place in the province of Cesena, Forlì and Rimini, in pubs, bars and on festivals, with a noticing response of the public, finishing in May when the band goes back to the drawing board. That way, in September 2006 the Hellriders go back to “Officina 49” to expose to the light their first EP, “Before You Can Build...”, made by the band alone. This time the recordings get longer and deeper, showing more experience within the band, and will be finished by mid-November. “Before You Can Build...” clearly shows the turning in the Hellriders' style: strong and confident with the force of classic “trash”, the Hellriders amplified their own music horizons adding more captivating melodies, fast metal-core riffs and complicated rhythm variations. Inflences extend to be Lamb Of God and In Flames. The result is a sound surely more serious, more modern and more captivating, like shown by the enthusiasm of the public of the first disc-presentation concert that took place at Vidia Club the 14th October. “Before You Can Build” consists of 7 tracks: “Hellrider”, “Blood On The Snow”, “Dominion Of The Instinct”, “Human To Human”, “Understand This”, “D.I.F.”, “The Result” and will soon be sent to a label, in search of a contract.
