What is Buck Wild Records?Buck Wild Records has been controlling the underground scene in Nashville since 1998. With 8 local releases, two regional, and two national, we are looking to put our foot in the door, and set out to become the elite label in the south. We have songs currently on rotation on local radio stations in Tennessee. D.J.'s are very excited about our newest singles, "Candy Paint", and "What It IZ,saying "They are for sure club hits." Buck Wild is totally focused on obtaining the goals we have set out for ourselves. With the right push behind us, there is no doubt that we will become the next No Limit, Cash Money, Rap-A-Lot, G-unit, etc. Buck Wild is very careful in choosing the material we use, because we aim to make a premium record every time. The levels of success are limitless for the upcoming album and future projects. We hope you take time to consider and evaluate everything Cowboy and Buck Wild have and are currently accomplishing as a totally independent record label. 2006 is the year we are looking to kick the doors in on the industry. 2004-05 was spent getting the business end of things together and building strong connections, stemming from a label lay off, due to the incarceration of the labels owner and CEO, Cowboy. Now 2006 is his Year! Don't miss your opportunity to be a part of the newest and next biggest company and artists to come out of the south. Buck Wild is the premiere independent label in Nashville, TN, and has the hottest talents in the city. This can definitely be what the game and industry needs, 100% real, street, and business savvy entrepreneurs.
Buck Wild Records was formed in 1998 by the CEO and owner, the then 17 year old Cowboy. Being influenced by people like Master P and J-Prince, Cowboy decided he would form a label that would represent the city of Nashville, and that's how Buck Wild originated. Buck Wild was formed and based in a south Nashville hood called 3 rd Ave. Represented by people like Bombshell, CornBread, and Big Polk, all locked up for murder, and the head Buck Wild Spokesman, TerranceHardface Claybrooks, (R.I.P.) Although Buck Wild was a music label, the artists and associates of the label had more street ties than music, so a mobster image was formed by the label in the streets of south Nashville. The first release of the label was a collaboration album with Cowboy and one of his partners Mista Cottrell, called Moneymakers. The album was recorded with DJ Sir Swift, who had recently moved to Nashville from Memphis. The album was released and stimulated a nice buzz for the label in Nashville, and today is looked at as a local classic. Buck Wild continued pumping the streets. The second release was a group effort entitled Buck Wild Souljaz, which was nationally distributed through Southwest Wholesale, who then was the number 1 independent distribution company in the south. Buck Wild was moving fast with the young CEO at the helms, making big move, after big move. Soon a buzz was formed in Texas through Mississippi, and Alabama. Larger labels like Universal and Jive began contacting the label. From here promo trips were set up and Cowboy began recording for his solo debut. That's when things took a turn for the worse. The same weekend Cowboy and then friend, and now G-Unit star Young Buck were scheduled to go down to Atlanta for a collaboration song with 3-6 Mafia star Project Pat, Cowboy had his second and most intense encounter with the Narcotics unit in Nashville. As a result of some misfortunate events, Cowboy, then 19, ended up receiving an 11 year sentence and had to lay down in state prison for over 2 years. In this same time his fellow Buck Wild Mafia member Ruger 9, was incarcerated in the same facility and unit as Cowboy. The two plotted and shared plans for the label upon their releases, and even had performances together for the facility. Ruger 9 was released in 2002 and Cowboy in early 2003. From here things really took off. Cowboy picked up where he left off, leading his label to the top of the music scene in middle Tennessee. Cowboy then picked out some of the hottest artists in the city that had a buzz, and formed his group, Da Block Hustlz, consisting of Cowboy, Ruger 9 and Young Money. The label then began touring the country and performing with many of the hottest stars in Hip-Hop.Now, the mafia has extended from south Nashville to across the south. Buck Wild is laying it down and is growing day by day. It's more than music, it's a movement, if you real get down wit it!
