LOSKOT is one of the most important groups in Poland. Its history is strongly connected with the beginning of the phenomenon of yass scene which is a socio-musical movement founded in the beginning of the 90-ties in Gdask. In the beginning the main aim of yass artists was to oppose the rigid monopole of jazz music that existed then in Poland. After the years of transformations, the ideological aim of yass artists evolved to artistic values and LOSKOT became one of the main pillars of the transformation. The group was founded in summer 1993 making its debut on the first Gdynia Summer Jazz Days Festival. The leader of the group is Mikolaj Trzaska who co-initiated the legendary band Milosc. In LOSKOTs repertoire there are various compositions in modern form of electro-acoustic quartet. The group makes use of the tradition of jazz improvisation using the elements of swing, country and rocknroll. On their albums and concerts LOSKOT offers modern, austere trans section combined with warm, sometimes even hot, sound of saxophone and clarinet. There are also literary elements, unsuccessful music themes and musicians monologues full of specific sense of humour in groups pieces.LOSKOT has performed on numerous festivals in Poland and abroad: Warsaw Summer Jazz Days, Jazz Fair Pozna, I Yass Festival Krakow, Polens-Volens Berlin 1999, Jazz Kijev Festival 2000. Moreover many individual concerts in whole Europe.LOSKOTs recording history: Koncert w Mozgu (Concert in Brain), Amariuch, Smierdzace Kwiatuszki (Smelling Flowers), SunI edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)
