It seemed to be senseless to found a boy-group with these members... perhaps heavy make-up would modify a daddy band, but there's no way to manipulate the taste. So OMNIJAM made the opposite as golden rule: Totally improvised music, totally unusual - the ideal soundtrack for dark winter days or even more bad circumstances.
But we are able to laugh without hiding even if the music sometimes doesn't sound like...
The musical background of the members of OMNIJAM is very, very diverse: Erich Ulmer (drums) had played with YOU, a german pop-band with some success - Stefan Dämmrich (bass) came from the more ambient/electronic scene - Tomek Jedynak (guitar & one million knobs) formerly played punk, then psychedelia - Uwe Schiewe (evil guitar) made experiences in the prog-world and still hates guitar picks - and last not least Dragan Vulevik (vocals & narration), who left his voiceprints in the alternative and psychedelic scene of Pforzheim.
Surprisingly... the music is working!
Improvisation is a bit risky - you have to handle the wrong tones and the different feelings the day left...
It's the good AND the bad message: This kind of music is always a picture of the moment it was created - it can't be reproduced that way to a later date ... transient as the bloom of a cactus, each note, each word - one of a kind!
