KEIICHI MIYASHITA / MANDOG

Keiichi Miyashita
Born in Tokyo on 1st of January 1970.
At the age of 13, summer 1983, first contact to guitar. At Middle School period, radically influenced by Heavy Rock and Heavy Metal and covered. At High School period, beside Heavy Rock and Heavy Metal, found interest in Jazz. influenced from Kenny Burrell’s First. ….Also into Soul and Blues.
Year 1990, joined Jazz band which has repartly of traditional Jazz like Django Reinhardt, Benny Goodman、Ruby Braff, etc.. as a guitarist for 3 years, Performed at live venues, restaurants, hotels….all over Japan.
Around year 2000, found German band CAN.
This influense made him to form MANDOG with Hiro Kamo (Bass), Yasunori Kubo (Drums).
At the begining they played materials, Keiichi Miyashita composed, thenafter they played generally much on improvisation.
At same time solo performances increase.
Between 2001 to 2004, often collaborated with Japanese band MOND’RIEN…with much experimental direction.
Year 2002, joined US tour of Damo Suzuki (Ex Can)’s Network as lead guitarist. Since then, often perform with Damo, became one of his closest friends.
Year 2004, Joined Mani Neuemeier (Guru Guru)’s Japan tour.
From same year until 2007, Mandog was active mainly as trio with Takayuki Eno(Bass)、Yasuyuki Watanabe(Drums)…performed with much speed on thier passionate sound.
Today, beside continuing performance with Damo Suzuk’s Netwrork, involved in following side projects…such as…
GODMAN which is united band between members of Mandog and Acid Mothers Temple : Acid Mother’s Makoto Kawabata 、Hiroshi Higashi、Mitsuru Tabata、Mandog trio’s Yasuyuki Watanabe and Keiichi Miyashita. DRUGON(Mani　Neumeier、 Takayuki Eno and Keiichi Miyashita) GALAX(ASTRO、Hiroshi Higashi and Keiichi Miyashita)
….These are small parts of collaborations to inform…..there are lots more.
Since year 2007, active on acostic solo performance beside all above mentioned projects. Not only on west orientated music, he developed own foundaments on traditional Japanese, Asian, Oriental, etc. not controlled by rythms and melody….but, free style performance.
Year 2008 by now, Miyashita is active as trio with members of wellknown band Zeni Geva, Mitsuru Tabata on guitar and Masataka Fujikake on Drums. The trio's name is "Wabo-Chao".
