My Interests

Influences:

I have a very eclectic music taste and my influences range from Dave Matthews Band to Dilated Peoples.....from Ryan Adams to Oliver Mtukudzi. So a bit hard to pin down! At the moment I am loving Scott Matthew. having said that, I don't think that I am only influenced by music. I find these quotes from these great authors very influential (if you have a favourite quote then send it to me and I will add it to the list!):

"What are you going to do with yourself, Ed?" I asked
"I don't know," he said. "I just go along, I dig life." He repeated it,....
Jack Keroac (On the Road)

"Everyone is defined forever in a single instant of their lives, a moment in which man encounters his self for always."
Jorge Louis Borges in a paper on Dante

"it's the useless that endure."
Hanif Kureshi (The Buddha of Suburbia)

"She noticed that the people he passed looked back after him; but he went straight forward, lifting above them a face like a February sky."
Henry James (Portrait of a Lady)

""Occasionally in life there are those moments of unutterable fulfillment which cannot be completely explained by those symbols called words. Their meanings can only be articulated by the inaudable language of the heart" Martin Luther King Jnr" (courtesy of http://www.myspace.com/kazamatronic)

""Do not be too timid and squeamish about your actions. All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better. What if they are a little coarse, and you may get your coat soiled or torn? What if you do fail, and get fairly rolled in the dirt once or twice. Up again, you shall never be so afraid of a tumble." -Ralph Waldo Emerson" (courtesy of Amber)

""absorb what is useful, discard what is not, and add uniquely what is your own" ~Bruce Lee" (courtesy of Rory)

""Dance as though no one is watching, Love as though you have never been hurt before, Sing as though no one can hear you and Live as though heaven is on earth." - souza" (Courtesy of LJ)

"“You know quite well, deep within you, that there is only a single magic, a single power, a single salvation...and that is called loving. Well, then, love your suffering. Do not resist it, do not flee from it. It is your aversion that hurts, nothing else.” Hermann Hesse" (Courtesy of Jonathan)

""Are we to decide the importance of issues by asking how fashionable or glamorous they are? Or by asking how seriously they affect how many?" Nelson Mandela" (Courtesy of Gabriel)
