About Me
Heavy-mental MC Kev Hutch bangs out his third album, DRUG WOR, making cell phone addicted ears bleed and Ritalin kids bounce. Not concerned with fashion or thuggin, Hutch wants to bring you to his reality show: no bling, no CEOs, no glocks, no Bentleys, no bitches. Its a subconscious effort to release the soul from the matrix of the media-obsessed, consumerist zombified modern world.Hailing from the Upper West Side of Manhattan, Hutch experienced hip-hop up-close and personal, coming of age in the Rock Steady era. Moving to harlem in the 90's. Meeting and working in the store of clothing designer and icon Dapper Dan in Harlem, Hutch had a chance to meet some amazing clothing designers and hip hop artists. To name a few...Big Daddy Kane and my man Scoop lover, Rob Base, Shirt King Phade, Elf, LL Cool J, Eric B. and Rakim. Although, Hutch's best friend Kareem Smith's father owns Zakia Records giving Hutch an opportunity to meet The Great King Sun and other Zakia recording artists, ect. ect. Dap gave Hutch and his group Darker Da Berry a place to to work on their music and show skills. Paving another way meeting Chris Lighty of Jungle Brothers now formerly of Violator Records, Mike Tyson, and others who supported Dap and his work, ect.ect. Darker Da Berry had an opportunity to perform in many Harlem Week events. Group members for Darker Da Berry were Jadest, Dreads, Tone, Tabu, Lord Sear, Nice O, and Kev Lover/Kev Hutch. With good friends like Kurt Burrows and 98.7 Kiss FM's Prince Messiah working with Hutch establishing himself in a war torn music industry Hutch links up with Mike G and Sammy B creating groups of self made artists called Bush Camp making clothes and music. Giving Hutch a start on his first two promos featured on New York City's Kiss FM and Hot 97 on DJ Red Alert's great show. While some say to be in the music industry, you have to pay dues Hutch feels dues need to be paid to him. Being a set designer for featured films like Srtictly Business, Fly by Night, Who's the Man Hutch paves another way to movies and music videos meeting Ed Lover and Dre, Tommy Davidson,DJ Scratch, Chill, and other actors and actresses Hutch made history. Documented and soon to be seen in the upcoming film From the Underground Up. With some knowledge to pave his own way for his style of music and videos.
To collaborate with the following hip-hop luminaries: Beatnuts,Jeff Dixon,M-eighty,
Kurious Jorge, MF Doom, X-Ecutioners, King Sun, Grand Puba, No Games Involved, Natures Intricate Sound (NIS), DJ Red Alert, Stretch Armstrong & Bobbito, Triad Visions, Sensational and Lord Sear..his middle school buddy...

In the mitz of working on demos for record labels, collaborating on preproduction with Roc Raida, Psycho Les of the Beatnutz, Lucian, Destro from Professional Hitz, and others, ect., ect. Hutch gets a call from a Bushcamp group member Torch/Sensational and he produces some tracks with Hutch for a hot selling Word Sound Album called Get on My Page. Hutch finally has a shot. Sensationl beats, Hutch lyrics the way they like bass and freaky sounds. What a team, from two different worlds that come together to make good music. Sensational gave Hutch his own song on the album called Get on my Page and the song's called (You That Cat). Which brings them to the next album called Natural Shine. Hot songs with freaky beats and explosive lyrics, which paves another way for Hutch to produce songs with Sensational for Hutch's Drug Wor. Sensational is featured on {True Pimpin},{ What You Forgot}, and {Max This} and lots of upcoming tracks for future projects. Now Hutch knows what he wants. Hutch puts out two underground albums for streets and record labels. Albums called {Real World} and {Vitamin Hutch}. Along with a combolation album for Sid Locks called {Verbal Artillery}...song called{ The View}. Record Label friends turned it down and the streets turned it up. Now it brings Hutch the next level of music.
In and out of the game for 13 years, Hutch finally opened his ears and heart after becoming completely incensed with what was being passed off as hip-hop by the corporate media. His first two releases: The Real World and Vitamin Hutch sparked off his anti-thug campaign and handed out free and sold remarkably 30,000 copys to date. And this is from his start in hip hop till now,,,,ANY SONG HE HAD TOO PUSH ,,,HE PUSHED WITH LITTLE HELP,,,BUT THANKS TOO RED ALERT PLAYING MY PROMOS ON 98.7 KISS FM AND HOT 97 IN NYC, BOBBITO & STRECH 89.9...,,,THANKS FAM,,,With DRUG WOR, Hutch reaches out to the masses being spoon-fed fabricated, over-commercialized, so-called hip-hop. DRUG WOR gives a behind-the-scenes look on how communities and societies are destroyed with drug dealing, abject materialism, a tabloid news media, and an indifferent government.
