Life, love, art ( music, literature, paintings, photographs, films...anything, really) that touches my soul (can't do any myself though, too uncreative...), people, especially people that differ from the norm and don't give a damn. And anything alive and fascinating in general.
Elisabeth Kübler-Ross. When I saw the film about her life, it touched me deeply. After that I read almost all of her books and they helped me confronting myself with my fear of death. I recommend them to anyone who feels uneasy when being reminded of mortality and wants to change that.
Yes. I once had to go without music for two weeks. It was unbearable and I became excited whenever I heard a remotely melodious ringtone. Hope I never have to go through that shit again.
Loads. Give me a wide-screen TV with kick ass surround-sound and a huge DVD collection and I will never leave the house again. Well, maybe to go and get cigarettes. And beer. And friends and lovers are always welcome to join, just don't expect a decent conversation. I hate it when people talk during good movies, especially when they talk to ask me questions about the story because they haven't been paying attention because they were too fucking busy TALKING DURING THE BEST MOVIE EVER! So SHUT UP OR LEAVE!
Oldboy, A Snake of June, Buffallo66, True Romance, Carlito's Way, Fear and Loathing, Snatch, Fight Club, Odysee2001, City of God, The Meaning of Life, Pulp Fiction, Team America, Spirited Away, Scarface, Lost Highway, A Clockwork Orange. And many many more.
Rarely. But mainly because we only have a very old black and white TV. In our shitty kitchen. With three shitty programmes. It's shit.
Books that have left a deep impression on me:
The little Prince
Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins
A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry
The Discovery of Heaven by Harry Mulisch
Almost everything written by Elisabeth Kübler-Ross
And the Ass saw the Angel by Nick Cave
American Psycho, although I genuinely hated that book while I was reading it.
Das Glasperlenspiel by Hermann Hesse
Das Parfüm by Patrick Süßkind
Der Zauberberg by Thomas Mann
