Manuel Fogliata, born Rimini, Italy, 1979, was driven since he was teenage
from a great passion for music, thanks to the inspiration provided by some
old rock Lps he found at home: bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Deep
Purple were infact his early influences.His first musical approach with an instrument is with a guitar, at 13, and
during the following years he starts to play in young local bands.
Suddendly, the need to record and overdub parts brings him to work with a
Fostex 4-track tape recorder, trying to achieve those "post-produced"
effects he had found into his favourite records..After psychedelic rock influences , his interest switches naturally to
electronic sounds, the "new ones" by then, like trip-hop and ambient,
bringing Manuel to explore new musical adventures with synthesizers,
sequencers and samplers.Then, purchasing his first PC and trying to compose his first tracks, starts
the same time into practise mixing with the decks.
The following period is spent by Nuel into the studio, exercising for
improve his tecnical skills, playing his first small venues in his town
clubs, getting closer and closer to club oriented music. In 2001 moves for
one year to Bologna, to collaborate with other young artists and friends.
This short experience is though definitely influencial for his musical
career.Back in Rimini, while focusing again on solo productions searching for his
own sound, keeps being active as a dj feeding his passion trough a new job
in a record shop, which allows him to dig more music.
Realizing that his sound does not fit anyway the styles appreciated in his
own geographical area, he sends his first demos abroad, receiving good
feedback and instantly signing a contract: in march 2006 infact he releases
his first 12", for the Spanish Regular label. In May follows one on Dumb
unit, produced with his fellow Touane. After his 3rd release , out just
another month later, he finally moves to Berlin.
