IF YOU ARE A PORN CHICK, DON'T ASK TO BE MY FRIEND! I am a 33 year old single male. I am a sports nut (especially football), and very well may be playing a simulation of some sport on the Playstation 2 at this very moment. Most of my life I have been an athlete, playing football in high school, then in college after attaining a scholership, and then playing basketball or whatever in the years afterward. That came to a crashing halt in June of 2000, at the age of 27, after suffering a work related neck/spinal cord and low back injury. After having two levels of my neck fused with titanium with surgery, I am limited to very low-level excercise (like dog walking) and still suffer from low back problems that weren't fixable. I am lucky that my vertabrae merely bruised my spinal cord and I can still walk.
Shit happens in life, and I have chosen (after a very low period in my life) to quit the "poor me" attitude and deal with it. Very personal unexplained events have left me with an interest in the paranormal and, specifically, demonology from the Christian perspective.
I'm currently attending Mesa Community College in San Diego after a 14 year break from college. I can be incredibly goofy at times and then real serious the next (but mostly I like to laugh and have fun).

My Interests

Nirvana, live in April, 1990
My interests include, but are not limited by: My best and very special friend, "Sadie" (my Yellow Labrador Retriever)! Sports, theology, psychology, demonology, movies, and way too many video games. I am definitely a Soprano's junkie, but mostly like to learn things on Discovery, TLC, or the all important lessons taught at Comedy Central (Stephen Cobert, anyone?). I also love to cook, especially salmon (as long as it's not of the Atlantic (farm raised) variety). I guess I was spoiled in the northwest.

I'd like to meet:

I would have liked to have met Johnny Cash since way before the movie came out. Even in my heavy metal modes, I still have room for Johnny.

Ever have a bad day like Johnny? I sure have!

Music:

I definitely like classic rock and am sometimes a sucker for the 80's rock I grew up with (Oh...wait. Is that classic rock now, too?). I like a lot of music influenced by Foo Fighters and a lot of the early 90's grunge/Seattle sound. In my late teens and throughout my twenties I was also into heavy metal bands that thrived on negativity, but I am just not the angry guy I used to be after finally returning to Christ. I still like hard rock/metal music the best though, but some things I just have to turn off.

Movies:

The list is far too great to type out. I like action/adventure, drama, horror, comedy, and just about everything if it is a well made movie and makes you think. Thumbs down on the chick flicks, though (although if I'm watching with someone I'll sometimes "pretend" it's not so bad). I have a full movie library, and constantly add more, so not many of the decent ones get by me. Donnie Darko, and anything by Will Farrell or most of them with Adam Sandler have been some of my favorites.

Television:

Definitely "The Soprano's", Denis Leary's "Rescue Me", "The Office", "The Cobert Report", and "Ghost Hunters". Other things come and go, but those (and some I know I forgot) are mainstays. My television and Playstation 2 have a sort of "thing" going, so who am I to break them up?

Books:

Does "ESPN: The Magazine" count? Recently I have read or am reading: The Bible, "People of the Lie" and "Glimpses of the Devil" by M. Scott Peck, "This Present Darkness" by Frank Peretti, "The Bondage Breaker" by Neal T. Anderson, "The Invisible War" by Joseph Cetrone, and Malachi Martin's "Hostage to the Devil".

Heroes:

Hmmm...(besides Jesus, I mean)
